I'm going on a trip to the desert

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

We came back in to town for a few days. I did allright on my first trip most of the time. I have my Spark book, yeah! to read this time. I was so happy to receive it. If I can resist some salty snacks and replace them with good ones I will be o.k. I know what to eat and to drink as much water as I can because it is very dry where we camp. I love the peace and quiet! I have extra water and mapped out a good walking trail, too.
Good luck to all of you and thank you for reading my blog.

Going on a trip to the desert

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Well, it's that time of year again. We take our trailer out to the desert in Salton Sea area. It is so peaceful and quiet. I am not going to take or buy any junk food. I have healthy food packed and will log down what I eat and when I exercise to put on my tracker when I return. I use to get junk food all the time at the stores around our camping spot. I want to take pictures, walk, go for jeep rides, etc. I hope my old body holds up! LOL!

I'm jealous, have a great time, you have the food situation under control. I,m freezing and look forward to retiring in the warmth, my long term goal.

Your smallest actions add up to something big

Everything you do makes a difference. Even if you're not on the front lines leading the effort, you have a contribution to make. Without your contribution, no matter how small, so many other things would never happen. The world needs what you have to offer. You have no idea how the simplest of your everyday actions can effect your child, and even people you've never met. Chances are, you'll never know. But if you're looking for a purpose to work toward, all you need is the desire and the right perspective. Define yourself as your task, and that's all you'll ever be. Define yourself as your contribution to your family, and suddenly you're a very important part of a bigger picture. The biggest pictures are the ones where there's room for everyone to be seen.

I liked this" Healthy Reflection" for today and thought I would put it on my blog.

Making November a good month

Sunday, November 01, 2009

I made good progress in October. I lost 4 lbs. and focused better on getting better organized. I know a lot of the reason for beginning to lose weight again is that I posted more on Sparks .
My goals for November are to login and post often, exercise daily, plan meals and track them, drink enough water.
You have to take care of yourself in order to help others. There are always things in life that will happen, stay flexible and do the best you can to stay focused on taking care of yourself.

Let's make November a good month!

That is great advice. I had an awesome october but started to slide the last two days. I needed to hear some one say you need to take care of yourself. So here I go off to the gym. I have to start talking to myself about staying strong. the next two months are going to be a real challenge with the holidays coming.

Up the ladder

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

My Dh is doing really great. The stiches are healed up on the outside and he is being careful not to raise his arm up over his head as he was told and I have insisted. It is really hard for him not to do some of the things he is used to doing . Chopping wood, etc. I know that soon he will be able to do most of the activities he enjoys. Today while he was out the smoke alarm started beeping in the really high ceiling in the livingroom. I carried in the ladder and climbed up and changed the battery. Then I put new light bulbs in the ceiling light , they had burned out a few days ago. It's silly but I was proud of myself for these small accomplishments .
