has been a good day!!

On my 2.25 mile walk this morning, I think i was able to shlog(sorta jog) about half of it, not bad!!

    Better to shlog that not do anything at all. You'll be reogging (really jogging) before you know it.

Monday 1.25.10

Had a GREAT weekend. I got up early Saturday and Sunday morning and walked 3.28 miles each day.

We also had my youngest daughter'd 6th birthday part, a gymnastics party! Guess What.....the parents also go to play!!! WOO HOO. I jumped on the trampoline, yes I can still do a backflip! I also played around with a mini trampoline jumping over some mats, it was so much fun! Not to mention the great calorie burn I got out of it!!

Sunday the wife and I cleaned out the garage together, which was nice to spend that time together and make some room out there. You will never believe what I found out there, an elliptical machine!! I knew it was there, just buried. I now have access to that bad boy so I plan to use that in my calorie burning mission as well.

Off to a good start to the week and I'm hopin and a prayin I can lose another 3 lbs this week, that will put me at 20LBS total loss since I official started Dec 28th.

Ok, so I've been using iTreadMill for my iPhone as my pedometer. I've not been happy with the consistency of the milage and steps though. You'd think that walking the same route daily would give nearly the same results, right. I know that step sizes vary, my pace varies, etc. I thought iTreadMill was the best I could do.

Last night I found walkmeter in the iTunes store for a whopping $5!! I used it this morning and I think I've found the newest toy! It uses GPS which to say is accurate doesn't do it justice. I could tell when I was on the sidewalk vs. the street!! I have reports emailed to me after every walk giving me a ink to a google map routing my walk, miles walked, average speed, calories burned etc. Very nice little app to say the least.

Am curious though, what does everybody else use when you walk??

  I have been using the fitness maps on the site, enter my address, pin my route out and then enter how long it took for the walk. I do want an iphone, provider won't give it to me for free yet. Stuck with a Blackberry, kinda like being forced to use Windows...

    This is absolutely fabulous news for me. I just bought an iPhone last week and am still getting use to it and all my new gadgets. My 13 yr old daughter has been educating me on iTunes :) I have been using a pedometer I put in my pocket, but I like this idea MUCH better. Thank you so much.

    I've got an Android phone and found Jog Tracker in the market place for free. I've used it only once, due to weather, but it seemed to track every move I made. It also uses GPS much like the app you described.

I lost another 2.6 lbs!! WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

that puts me at a 17.8 lbs loss all together now. Geez I like this!!
