Well, I've been talking about it for months, and it only took 36 minutes to complete the 3.5 hellish miles!!
WHAT a great time though.
The race was called the warrior dash (Http://warriordash.com), it's 3.5 miles, with a few obstacles along the way. I ran with a buddy from work, here is our before pic:
I ran through a wind tunnel(actually an airboat blowing in our face)
thigh deep mud hole followed by 20yards of slick mud
over the river on a plank
ran through the thick trees
slide down a mudslide into the river, literally a slide of mud
ran down the river(ankle to thigh deep, slick)
climbed out of the river via muddy slick bank, followed by 30-40 yards of slick mud
into another deep mud hole(fell in this one) another 20yds of slick mud
climbed up the cargo net
down the cargo net
jumped into the lake(chest deep)
crawled OVER 4 floating logs that were IN the lake
swam about 50 yards across lake(still chest deep)
another mud slick about 20yards long
climbed OVER the large wooden spool
climber over the pile of hay bales
jumped over two fires
crawled under the barbed wire in the mud
......to the finish line.
Here is the post race photo:
WHEW.....talk about a great time!!!
The venue was Cousin’s Paintball in Forney Texas. RedFrog Events is the company that puts this on and they did it right. Very well ran, very well organized, thought of everything from a ‘gear check’ to check in, ATM’s on site, lots and lots of potty’s, axe throwing, rocking throwing(warrior stuff), tent to purchase items, etc. Very large area that had plenty of room for vendors, huge stage with a band playing all day, beer, turkey legs, etc!!
I WILL run this race again next year, that you can count on.
