Well, I'm a bloggin. I know it's good to make a note of "how it's going" I notice I feel better the days I have a good workout. It doesn't work to go every day. So, the walks on the in between days are good. I have felt a bit more like snacking lately. The frequent small meals is good for me. But, avoiding the snack foods. Okay, I confess...I had some baked potato chips this afternoon. Should I fell guilty? Well, I didn't eat half the bag...since there was only a bit left. I put them in my son's lunch, sometimes. Okay, well tomorrow will be a better eating day. Yes, it will!

    Don't feel guilty.....You can have those things in small portions once in awhile but increase the cardio that day. Evens itself out....shhhh! Don't tell anybody but I had a sugar cookie and a lunch bag of regular potato chips. Today it was like I had an empty pit in my stomach.....was hungry all day. Keep in mind that the more you work out the more fuel you need. Please do not limit yourself there on too few calories. You need them. emoticon

    Good for you for making it baked potato chips. No guilt there! I feel better on exercise day too! I'm finding that my body is craving activity now on my "days off", so I do strength training or stretching on those day. emoticon

Well, I had a really good work out at the gym! I did 20 min on recumbent bike, 18 min of brisk walking, and 6 min of jogging. Then, I did a good weight work out. I think one of the reasons I haven't lost is because I'm gaining more muscle. I don't want to get discouraged about weighing in. Ya know what I mean? So, I will keep it up and watch my eating closer. I do feel like drinking more water has made me less hungry. Yeah!

    Great workout! Don't get discouraged. Muscle does weigh more than fat. But you will notice clothes fitting loser. Muscle is leaner there for not taking up as much room so to speak. You are doing great. We are here for you. Tammy

    HI there - great work at the gym!

Don't worry too much about the numbers on your scale right now. If you're working out a lot, then you ARE building lean muscle, which takes up less room in your body, but can make the scale give ya a higher number than you want to see.

How are your clothes fitting? That's what I fall back on when my scale won't move (unless I move the blasted marker back, hehe). Losing inches is a GREAT thing - and I bet the scales will start moving for you again soon.

And way to go on the water - yaaay!! Water is SO important in losing weight and keeping healthy.

Well, I am feeling more in control today. Yesterday I was overwhelmed with laundry, mail, cleaning (didn't do much), etc, etc. I had a nice walk with our dog as I walked my daughter to school. I had a moderate breakfast and am ready for the day.

    That is the way to do it. There are times I have to push myself to go walk on the treadmill. But once I get on there and finish it....I feel so great and energized....(well, maybe after 15 minutes or so). LOL!

Yes, I was not as motivated being on vacation. Except, the fact that I wore a bathing suit (boy shorts, tankini) and was feeling big. Yikes! Well, now that vacation is over I will get serious about my eating and exercise. Go for it!!

    Everyone needs time to slack. NOW is the time to get started with your new lifestyle. Getting started is the first step to a new lifestyle. Press onward! We, 40 is JUST a number are here for you even when you get side tracked. LOL! Just think how you will feel when you put that swim suit back on in a few months. Wow, this is so interesting and cool! I am new to the SparkPage. I am motivated already by reading so many words of wisdom and seeing other member's progress. It's time for me to be accountable. I have been slacking for a while, despite my exercising and generally healthy eating. I will be mindful of what I am eating...I will, I will! This is my daughter, Jen, being mindful of what she's eating. LOL!
