Trying to catch up. I just want to thank those who have left comments on the last couple blogs. I wish I had more time to stop by and thank you individually but I am a little pressed lately and have a stomach bug.

Sunday: Zoo when great, beautiful and warm. Came home and DH had a couple porterhouses marinating and was getting the grill ready. Decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing instead of homework.

Monday: Was just another long day with a headache and then Monday evening the stomach aches/nausea started.

Tuesday: Stayed home from class with stomach bug

Wednesday: So I am still not feeling well. Have no choice but to go to school. Have a group oral exam on Friday and have to meet with my group today before class. Think the meal planning is working...down 1.6lbs this week. If I wasn't feeling like crap I would be estatic.

World Series begins tonight....GO TIGERS!!!

starting over day 11/BLC tune up

HI everyone....Happy Sweetest day!

For some reason I am having issues trying to post a blog today. So here it is Starting over Day 11/BLC Tune up

So the dr appt went well, put me on imitrix for the migraines, flexeril for sleep/rls, prilosec for the nausea, need to eat protien every 2 hrs for hypoglycemia, have to stay with the birth control pill for a couple more months, everything should straighten out, get back on track with eating right and exercising, if still seeing a large weight gain then we will address that again in a month or 2.

DH has to work today so taking my mini sweeties to the pumpkin factory and then when we get home going to put the rest of the decor up. Hopefully the rain holds off, still cold and gloomy though. But the weather is going to be great tomorrow for the zoo.

BLC Tune UP...Since I have not met my goals for the first 6 weeks I have decided to try something different. I am using the meal planner on SP to help plan my meals each day. I am going to plan each morning for the day. To hard to plan it out for more than the day ahead. I put a post it note on my screen so I will remember each morning. Getting my treadmill in a few weeks. Can't wait. Still would like to get back on track with my fitness but one step at a time. Right now it is just my short walks. But its something at least.

Last night was great...didn't get anything accomplished in the house, but I was tired so went and layed down around 6 ish and watched scary movies.

NSV for today is I made my meal plan for the entire day :)

    Glad the doctor has a plan for you! I hope everything smooths out quickly.

I have been on a prescription med for heartburn & other issues for two years. I found out this week, from a different doctor, that long term use can cause osteoporosis. That was never mentioned when it was prescribed. Not that you need to worry about that now; but, something to consider down the road.

Good Morning Sparkies!

Its a cold and rainy morning here. I got to sleep in this morning so that was nice. Have class in a lil bit then straight to my dr appt. HAve all my questions and info ready to go for her. Lots of stuff to get down his afternoon with cleaning and homework so I can enjoy my weekend. Going to be a busy one. Jason has to work 5 hrs on Sat so it looks like it is just me and hte kids for the orchard. Sat night we are going to his bosses open house so that will be interesting since he gets off at 6. Zoo on Sunday yay!

    I hope all goes well at the doctor.

I hope the weather is nicer for your trip to the orchard. You'll have fun either way, but cold and rainy won't be as pleasant.

It's the pumpkin patch for us this weekend - we've got to choose those pumpkins to carve. I so look forward to this trip every year.

Starting over day 9

HI everyone.

Had a slight headache all day yesterday and woke up with it pounding. I hope it goes away soon I have my exam in oper. mgmt at 11:30. My daughter gets to dunk her principal for raising over $100 in their fundraiser. I will be out of class in time to make it :) No school for the kids tomorrow so that is going to make things easier to get done. Then a fun filled weekend. Can't wait. I will get a lot of walking in this weekend so I am happy about that! Just got to get all this homework done today and tomorrow. But I have less than last weekend so it shouldn't be so back.

    Headaches are no fun. Tylenol/ibuprofen combined with a diet soda (not sure why that particular combo; but it works) is the go to remedy for my mom & I. Feel better!

Starting over Day 8

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! The scale moves consistently each week...IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. Had I not been up 6 lbs last week this wouldn't be so back, but up again this week by .6 lb. And all my measurements are up... I think my body has given up on me and I have given up on my body! I just don't know what to do for myself. If it wasn't for school and walking around campus I wouldn't be getting any exercise in. I am eating all the wrong things. I am worse than when I started a year ago. A bit depressing I have to say...

On a lighter note, I decided to get rid of the electric fireplace in my living room and get my moms extra treadmill. So my tiny living room will continue to serve as my office and now my gym. Hopefully I can get somewhere with that...

    I know it doesn't seem like it but a 0.6 gain is much much better than another 6 lb gain. In other words your gain was a lot less than the week before so it's a tiny step in the right direction. Just to try and do 'one' thing at a time and then build on each success. Hang in there.

    I think this "lack of motivation" is going around more vigorously than the flu these days! I know you will succeed, you have always been very determined and accomplish an amazing amount in any given day.
Something from "Weight of the Nation" (on HBO): fitness isn't so great at helping lose weight, but it's essential to keeping weight off - so trading the fireplace for the treadmill sounds like a great plan.

    Two questions...and i don't mean them negatively but

Why are you eating all the wrong foods? i usually find i dig in to the wrong foods when i am stressed about something or when i haven't bought the proper foods, whats your story on that? Can you get back on track?

So what's your plan? You know things aren't great, so what are you going to do to change it? I have a terrible time looking at the scale going the wrong way and have to exercise and eat properly when I see that happening. If you are tired, give yourself permission to have a break. If you just need to dig deeper you know you can, you've done it before.

Being at school and taking care of the family is tough. When I was working full time, doing my Masters and being dad/husband I was overwhelmed. Fitness was the last thing on my mind and that was when my weight ballooned. You are trying to keep on top of so many things. You are doing much better than I did when I was going through school.

The one thing I have noticed, you were doing great for such a long time when you were keeping your fitness minutes up. I remember watching your success on the Teddy Bear team, seeing the great fitness minutes you were putting up and i decided to try to keep up with you. I was impressed with your successes and wanted to keep up to you in fitness minutes. Your determination was inspiring. I know you can do this again, and you will.

    I've been there... One thing that helps me with water weight is getting out my juicer. Heavy on the vegetables, seems to flush me out in a day or two.

    I think it is the added hormones! Have you been to the doctor yet (cannot remember)? I hope you are making a list of questions. Don't get discouraged, you are doing. Great things for you!

    The treadmill will help you a lot - as long as you actually use it. My poor treadmill sits alone and abandoned collecting dust so it's not doing me a bit of good. I do think though that if moving it upstairs to the living room were possible I'd use it almost every day.

Keep track of your "vitals" for your next Dr. visit, make sure you're drinking your water, and keep trying to make good choices more often than bad ones. I'm not in a place to give advice, but this isn't really advice from me it's more like advice I'm trying to follow too.

  Okay stop right now! Walk over to the mirror.....look in it....you are human, you will have bumps in the road and maintaining weight lose is harder than actually losing it. Pick a day and make it your NEW START DAY. Start with small goals again as you did on the beginning.....Are you drinking your water? It sounds alot like water weight as you would have to eat 3500 calories a day for 7 days to gain 1 lb of fat.
