Week 2 day 4-Spring 5%

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Since my knee has been bothering I have decided to focus more on yoga and ST and do low impact cardio. Zumba is closed the next three Saturdays for Spring Break so I get some rest there. I think I will do more walking, this doesn't seem to bother it as bad and jumping around doing kickboxing. I really like my Kettle bells and some moves don't bother it as do others so I can do short intervals of that too. I started writing notes down and I am going to talk to my doc, but I also have been researching tendonitis in both my knee and wrists (also carpal tunnel since that is btohering me too)

I am making good progress with studying for tomorrow MGMT exam. Considering I put it off til 2 days before.

Saw my professor yesterday. I get to take the classes I want. I am waiting to get permission for that 500 level class until winter semester. I decided to stay in the 400 level class that I registered for since another gal that is in both my acc & mgmt class this semester is taking that same class. So I will have a study buddy and someone to walk to the lot with at 9pm -its a night class:-(

Have a great day everyone!

Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken

Monday, March 26, 2012

We made this out of the SP cookbook yesterday! OMG it was so good! So Moist! We loved it!

It was funny since this was the first time I ever made a whole chicken. My mom walked in with the kids as I was getting ready to stick the lemons in the bird. She asked, did you take out the neck and stuff. I said what stuff?? She said there might be a bag of stuff in there. And then she laughed at me. Well I shoved my hand in there and felt around and there wasn't any bag. But I did feel the bones, which was weird (never made a whole turkey either) so it kinda weirded me out. But I did good and it turned out perfect.

It was really easy too. Will DEFINITELY make again!

The next time she hosts our group...I'm sure we will be ordering food in...big sigh of relief! emoticon

I just received the new Spark Cookbook and am so excited to use the recipes! emoticon Good for you for venturing into healthy cooking! emoticon

I have a whole chicken in the freezer for this recipe, just haven't made it yet. I will have to in the next couple of weeks. I thought it was one everyone would eat without too much whining :-)

I made that recipe and really loved it too. Now looking for plant-based recipes as we're cutting out animal products. There are great recipes in the Spark cookbook!

Yum!! First time my dd made a turkey with me was when she was 3 and wanted to help with Thanksgiving dinner...1st time she realized that the Turkey we eat is the same one she saw at the zoo and she cried and told everyone all day how sad it was that the Turkey use to be alive...she still eats turkey but that was a hard day! She is now 18 and heading to college next year...time flies...thanks for your blog and making me remember...Smiles Barb

My knee was still bothering me at Zumba. Not sure what is going on. Can you get arthritis is you have had no injury? I would have thought that would be something that would come later in life?? I will bring it up at my next physical. Didn't bother me too much today.

Have to go meet with my advisor today. I registered Friday but wasn't able to get my 500 level class since I need permission. I registered for the 400 level acc class that I need instead. Hopefully there will still be openings this evening after my appt so I can switch them around. I rather that the 500 level this semester.

Then I have to study study study. Exam in MGMT on Wednesday. Still haven't started the study guide. Want to get at least 1/2 done today then the rest tomorrow.

Its just another Manic Monday.... emoticon

It is cold again. Have to get out the winter coats. Can't beleive it was 80 a week ago. It was 73 yesterday. Today going to be 45!

Have a great Monday!!!

I hope you're knee feels better. It could just be over use, you've been working it pretty hard this last week.

I hope you get that class you want. It's supposed to be 95 here next weekend, we'll have to get the swamp cooler going sometime this week. I also know that we'll have at least one more cold snap before summer.

Week 2 Day 1 Spring 5%-A little disappointed

Saturday, March 24, 2012

I weighed in and was a little disappointed. I thought with all the extra hard work I would have lost at least 1 lb. I am a little bloated seeing that TOM is on its way. But normally around TOM I gain 2 lbs. So losing around TOM should make me feel better. And it does in a way. I just wish I could have met that weekly goal of 0.9. I think the PMS emotions are setting in. Geez, just love being a woman!!! emoticon

Hopefully will see better results next week that was I can meet my end of the challenge goal!

You are doing emoticon!!! Don't let the emoticon get in the way of your progress. You have to feel better and stronger with all that you are doing! As others have said, the scale will eventually go down. Keep up the awesome job!

    Hugs to you!!
You did great! The TOM is kicker and definitely is a bummer during weigh in time!
Keep up the good work and cheers to an even more successful week this week! (if you you do that math that you normally gain 2, and you are down .2 - you actually lost 2.2!!!

You have done an amazing amount of exercise this week though. I'm sure you feel better for that even if the scale didn't reflect your hard work. It's hard though when the scale doesn't reward you the way you think it should.

Don't let it ruin your weekend - go out and enjoy!

Measure your progress on how you feel too! You shared earlier that you were really proud and excited that you had added fitness min each day of the challenge! The weight will come off.

NEWMAC2011 3/24/2012 8:35AM

Do you know that extra hard work can cause water retention by your muscles? That's right! Often when we up our exercise, the weight does NOT come off as we expect although it will catch up eventually. Instead of focusing on that annoying scale which can make us disappointed and demoralized, think of how hard you worked this week and give yourself a pat on the back for that!

You're doing GREAT and the weight will come off!

I know!!! I thought for sure I would lose the 2 pounds that mysteriously appeared at the start of the challenge, but I didn't....I'm blaming menopause and lack of sleep!! I know it isn't the eating or fitness minutes, and I did my water faithfully and gave up wine!!! Go figure!!! The body just doesn't understand we are in this challenge and want to win for ourselves and the team!!! emoticon

Did you do all that this morning???? Wow! I'm still sitting on the computer, SPARKING, and drinking coffee while eating a healthy breakfast!!! Good for you!! emoticon

Hey, don't let a number on the scale demotivate you!
You were doing great during the week, so most likely this is just weight fluctuation,
and you will have lost more by the end of next week.
