Found that momentum I lost yesterday!

I just couldn't get up the motivation or energy to do anything yesterday. I did get my lower boday strength training in but no cardio. Today was awesome though.

I finally tried that Kettlebell workout today. I did a 15 min session this morning and another 15 this evening. WOW WOW WOW! It sure is a workout but a lot of fun. The movements are easy to keep up with so I wasn't getting lost! Kathy Smith is Great!!

Did a 45 min upper body workout this evening. Did day 3 video twice, and then some other misc: wrist curls, seated tricep extensions and alternating bicep curls.

Then I tried out the new yoga DVD I bought too. I did a 10 min PM yoga session which was pretty relaxing at the end of an AWESOME workout!

Still getting some pains in the tummy but all bearable! Feel like I could have probably made that Zumba class today! But it gives me time to get all my other stuff done! Way behind in housework! Gotta get that done today. About to leave in a few to go shopping for the party trays for Evies party tomorrow. Got to make those up, unless I find nice looking premade ones! Have to finish my AIS project thats due Monday. Did get a lot of homework last night though. Just have to finish it today along with all housework so I don't have to worry about anything but the party tomorrow!

Skipping weigh in & Happy Bday Evie!

Since I have not been able to do much this week because of that stomach bug, I am skipping weigh in today! As soon as I can I will start back on day 1 of week 4 of my challenges. Hopefully that will be tomorrow. I feel a little better today, but not enough to bounce around exercising! I did sleep though last night!

Today is Evie's 7th bday. emoticon
After school I am taking her to get her ears pierced for the first time. Then will take her out to eat and since dadda has to work we will go up on his first break at 6:30 and do a quick "Happy Bday" song and cake and a couple presents. Sunday is her big Hello Kitty dance party with all her lil school girl-friends!

    Happy Birthday Evie 7 is a great age to be ! I used to own a Hello Kitty Store back in the 1980's. Had all the stuff you could think of that was Hello Kitty ! It was a wonderful time, but I was ahead of the times and after three years we closed the store down in the Mall. Little Girls just loved my store and I just loved dealing with girls your age! Hope you Hello Kitty Party is a whole lot of fun !

1 "lb" in the right direction

Of the evil 3lbs I gained back last week, I lost 1. I was hoping to get rid of all 3lbs but I guess 1 is better than none (or gaining more). In order to meet my goal I set for myself, I would need to lose 5lbs now by next Wed. However, I would be setting myself up for disappointment if I kept that goal. So I am revising it: My goal is to lost AT LEAST 2lbs by Next Wednesday Jan 25th.

On a great note: Yesterday I put on this shirt that is normally a little tight on my upper arm. Now it fits around my arm. My calfs are looking smaller too. I already did measurements on Jan 4 so I am waiting until Feb 4 to do them again. But so far I like what I see.

Now if only the "muffin top" would start shrinking!!!! emoticon

Next week is going to be interesting. Wednesday is Evie's 7th bday. And of course she will get a small cake (probably cupcakes) on Wednesday then their will be another cake at her party on Sunday. A tiny peice shouldn't hurt right???!!!! Zumba starts next Sat too, I CAN"T WAIT. Hopefully that will really amp up the weight loss.

    Instead of eating a whole piece of cake -- put a scoop of ice cream next to it. Then eat 2 bites of cake, and 2 bites of ice cream. Leave the rest -- throw it out -- don't look at it.

Congratulations on losing the pound. Short term goals are working best for me, and I'm just figuring a half pound a week so it sounds totally realistic. My weigh in date is Sunday. Each and every Sunday. Way to go!

    Scales are not always the most accurate things in the world. Go with what you are feeling. You should have the birthday cake. Think about it this way, if you decided not to, would you feel deprived? On the other hand, if you plan the piece of cake and work it in. I think this would make you feel good. It certainly would make me feel a little sassy. emoticon

    As long as the clothes are looking good, the 2 lbs are probably just water. Of course you HAVE to have a piece of your daughter's birthday cake! Enjoy! And just keep exercising :)

The scale and I had a difference of opinion!

Today was my Wednesday Weigh In and the scale did move, just in the wrong direction! It started to really upset me since I have been doing so well, eating, exercising. Just didn't understand how it couldn't have moved in my favor or at least stayed the same! But then I remembered my goal for this week: No to be so hard on myself when I screw up! Well I wasn't the one that screwed up, the scale is BUT I am still not going to let myself dwell. It could be a number of reasons why the scale went the wrong way! I have to listen to my body not the scale! I am increasing my cardio (50 min walk/jog in place and 11 seated cardio workout this morning), I am getting both my strength training videos done in the evening, I am eating good, tracking everything. I am doing it right! I WILL REACH MY GOAL!!!

So this is to you scale: emoticonI am in control NOT YOU!!!

  I know I always hate hearing your gaining muscle, but there is that possibility. But other factors come into play as well, time of day.

What helped the most though was putting the scale away and concentrating on what I could see, I didn't have to lay on the bed to zip up my britches, more energy to do the things that I enjoy. You get the idea, your working hard eventually it will show on the scale.

    Remember muscle weighs more than fat too!. I was devistated when I first started and the scale didn't move for 2 months or so. I was building muscle and losing fat. Keep up the good work. You'll suddenly shed 2 pounds here and 2 pounds there. Also measure yourself every month at the same time because you'll see that sometimes your weight won't change but your measurements will.

    You are right, there are many reasons that the scale could have tipped the other way! Be positive and think..I'm building muscle!! I don't like my scales either- except in the mornings- there is a 10 lb difference in the two!! Explain that?!?!
