Joke of the Day

Wednesday, May 02, 2012

You are on a Horse, galloping at a constant speed.
On your left side is a sharp drop off.
And on your right side is an Elephant traveling at the
Same speed as you.

Directly in front of you is a galloping Kangaroo and
Your horse is unable to overtake it.
Behind you is a Lion running at the same speed as you
And the Kangaroo. What must you do to safely get out of this highly
dangerous
situation?

See answer below.

Get your drunk ass off the merry-go-round!!

ODE TO MY MOM

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Just a little message to remind everyone that mothers day is just around the corner. I personally think I have the best mother ever. After I got divorced in what seems like a million years ago even though it was back in 96, I got custody of all my kids in 99, one in 97 and the other 2 in 99. I was a single dad going to school and working nights, and my ex had disappeared (she would reappear 10 yrs later) it was my mom who moved in with me to help raise my kids.

She did not have too, she could have said you had them deal with it, but that's just not the way she is. She selflessly helped me raise my kids never thinking of herself only the family.

I owe alot to my mom and my kids will call her anything from Abuela to Mami because that's what she has been for them.

My mom is now 82 yrs old and she has dementia so it's not easy all the time being with her, but I will take care of her the way she gave of herself to take care of me and my kids.

If your mom is still around sparksisters and brothers cherish them and remind them that they are loved!!! emoticon

Let the Storm Come!!!

Monday, April 30, 2012

I love the storms and the rain!!! emoticon I love sleeping to the rain and storms raging outside my window. I love snuggling with my future wife under a soft blanket when it's pouring outside, and I love being outside in the storm.

The storms are rejuvenating to me I feel like they are washing me clean, like it's water from heaven. My friends don't appreciate the rain as I do, well at least not when they are outside, I love it!! I put on my rain gear and go direct traffic, and dance in the rain.

When the rain stops and the wind is blowing is awesome for me. I love the wind after a rain storm it's so refreshing!!!

So let me hear you sparksisters and brothers, do you dance in the storm???

Once lived at the start of a small mountain range - nothing was more impressive than watching a storm come raging down the valley - heading straight for you, and then celebrating it's arrival as the rains came to join the electric storm you'd been watching for the last 30 minutes or so! Even had a bet with the guy I was dating at the time to see who could handle staying in the cold/frozen rain the longest as the storm blew in. We got soaked, clothes went straight to the dryer and an incredible weekend continued....

So yes, I do love a big storm!

That said.... I also hate the interruption of precipitation during my work days.... Given that I travel extensively by air and car, any precipitation brings with it traffic delays, air travel delays, etc.

So while I appreciate the rain on weekends, nights, and days off (nothing is better than snuggle time and sleep when raining outside) - perhaps because it reminds me that I need to slow down and appreciate the moment...?

I have no appreciation for precipitation when I'm trying working, trying to make flights and appointments - basically trying to accomplish objectives for the day - or trying to "control my day" and mother nature steps in to humble me.

Have a great day!!!

Bring Daughter to Work day!!

Thursday, April 26, 2012

I have my daughter today with me at work and it's pretty awesome for me. emoticon but I think she is bored, all she does is be on her cell phone, which I guess it's what kids do nowadays. She did pretend to be interested for my sake during the base tour, which she enjoyed really. I was just kidding about the being interested.

It's being a great day so far and I'm looking forward to a healthy lunch!!!

Have a great day, spark sisters and brothers. emoticon emoticon

Desk Job/Office Fitness

Thursday, April 19, 2012

I like probably many of you have mostly a desk job. I get to go have fun with my patrols everyonce in a while. But when I'm swamped with paperwork like yesterday, I decided to get some exercise in, I went for a walk around our building a couple of times and did some chair sit-ups, calf raises, wall pushups and wall squats. I felt rejuvenated after each set, I wasn't tired and felt way better, because as many of you know paperwork can be a little boring emoticon.

So next time your at your desk and feeling emoticon get up and do some wall emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon and you will feel emoticon emoticon emoticon
