Had my second surgery today. All went well. Resting at home. This one was a little more painful than the first which was 0 pain. But this time was due to a bad IV experience (thought I would throw up from the pain)and then I had some cramping after the surgery. I feel OK now, just tired.

2 weeks no lifting 4 weeks no strenuous exercise. I gained a lot of weight back after the first one. I worked my bum off for the 2 weeks in between to try to rebuild some muscle. I'm hoping for lasting results. Hopefully I will not gain any weight this month.

Now I have to decide when to have the third (and final) surgery (hysterectomy). I may not have a choice, but hopefully I will (because that means no invasive disease).

I had more to get out of my head, but I am tired. Thanks for listening.

    I hope you feel better soon!! Don't be scared of the hysterectomy. They do it vaginally now and it's far less invasive (hopefully, if you need it you can have it like that). I had it in 2005 and I'm just great now. Best of luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

feeling sparky today! I had an amazing work out with my trainer yesterday and have another one planned for tomorrow.

I know that it is always best for me to put my plan in writing to make it easier to stick with it, so here I am typing away!!

I have been enjoying smoothies for breakfast: frozen cherries, banana, unsweetened almond milk, and spinach. Not quite a green smoothie, but going in the right direction and low calorie. I even made one for my hubby this morning. He loved it.

Now here is the hard part... Lunch and dinner and snacks! I am going to list some choices and their calories for a pick and choose up to 1100 calories throughout the day (the smoothie is about 150).

string cheese 80cal
butternut squash yogurt 100 (have you had this? it is amazingly delicious)
sweet potato yogurt 120
banana 100
apple 80
pear 80
soy beans 1/2c. 100
mango 135
clementine 35
2 large mushrooms 10
10 cooked Brussels sprouts 100
1c. chocolate almond milk 120
BPC spicy lemonade 130
1/2c. rice 90

These are things I have in my fridge right now. All good choices. My entire list adds up to 1280 calories!

Items to pick up this week:
fresh green beans
baby carrots
more baby spinach!

Last night for dinner I had 1c. rice, 1/4c. peas, and 1/4c. sliced carrots seasoned with soy sauce and a sprinkle of nori rice seasoning. about 225 calories and satisfying. I then had room for a cup of almond milk for a grand total of 341 calories for dinner.

My goal is to keep this type of healthy eating in mind and keeping it on hand in the fridge at all times to make the hardest meal and my most vulnerable time that much easier to manage.

food for thought

I have been trying to be really healthy in my food choices. I thought I would share some of the dishes I have made or am going to try month. They are all VEGAN or can be made vegan. Of course if you want to add chicken stock or substitute meat for tofu, I am sure they would be just as yummy.

First there is VEGETABLE STOCK. Everything tastes better with homemade stock. This one is so simple and hardly even has any chopping.


I made this too, SPING ONION AND PEA SOUP. I added some lemon to brighten it up a bit and used frozen peas.


TOMATO WHITE BEAN SOUP This is so hearty and flavorful. I added extra tomato.


LENTIL AND BULGAR SOUP. So healthy and full of protein. I doubled the vegetables, used Veggie stock and added some baby kale when I served it.




PEAS AND CARROTS IN JAMAICAN CURRY just sounds yummy to me!

spark team challenge

I just joined a SP Class Challenge to loose 5 (more) pounds by valentine's day. My starting weight today, 1/24 is 169.1. My 3 week goal is 164 pounds. I KNOW I can do this. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 3 weeks. I am looking forward to the challenge!
