Here I am dallying on the internet, when I got up early specifically to clean my house while my kids sleep. I can never get it done during the day because they are like three tiny tornados, constantly destroying what I've done.
Today my grandmother is coming to paint some more on a mural for my daughter. My little girl loves cheetahs, so Grandma is painting a whole savannah scene on one of her walls. It's very cool.
Downside is that Grandma is bringing pizza for lunch. Do I dare say all the things running through my mind on that subject?!?!
I know I won't be strong enough to resist, so I've already planned to eat a large salad with tofu dressing and a serving of fruit. Then I'll go ahead and have one slice instead of 4 or 5 like I usually do. This is about a lifestyle change, not a temporary diet, so I have to make choices I can live with.

Big Changes!

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

I've been reading everything I can get my hands on by Dr. Fuhrman. He has written Eat to Live and a bunch of other things. I read the first book in one night, even though he expressed in his book how important it is to get enough sleep.
I know how obsessed I can be when I get a new idea into my head, but his research and experience makes sense to me. I am especially prone to agreeing with his nutritional philosophy because it seems to mirror what God intended for us from the beginning.
So, I watched the videos, read the books, and yesterday we went shopping. The whole family helped pick out tons of fruits and veggies. My husband said, "This is just for a week?!" But we came away with a lower grocery bill than if we'd gone to the processed foods aisles. I especially loved the bulk foods section. I had no idea my regular supermarket had such a variety available.
I haven't completely won over my family on the Eating Like a Nutrarian lifestyle, but I got them to commit for six weeks. They at least love the fruits and nuts.
Here's to big changes!!!

I feel so silly, it's Nutritarian, not Nutrarian. emoticon

Congrats Jillian! Way to go on getting the rest of the family involved. I too have found that my grocery bill has decreased since starting my semi-nutritarian plan. It's a little expensive all at once, but I juice so I make enough to last a few weeks at a time and freeze my left-overs. That way what I need to buy lessens a little with each trip!

Let's do this together! emoticon
