Hello my fellow Sparkers!

Slowly, but surly, I have started losing again. Thank goodness!!! Surprisingly, I reduced the amount of weight I was lifting and increased reps and it seemed to help. I have noticed I now have to go much faster and longer on the elliptical trainer to get my heart rate up, which I know means Iím getting stronger, but also means I have to work harder (ugh!).

Time to switch it up a bit on cardio I guess, but the treadmill and stationary bike seem boring, just donít want to burn myself out on the same routine. I have a lot of joint issues so the elliptical trainer helps with joint stress in knees and ankles, but even it causes some hip issues for me. Not sure I can handle a Zumba class or anything like that JUST YET, maybe. Any ideas? OH, please donít suggest anything that involves being outside, at least until October anyway! Way too hot in Texas right now :-) Yeah, I guess I didnít make that easy for ya! Haha

All and all Iím doing great, just trying to stay motivated, and Spark is a great place for that. Iím thankful for my friends that encourage me, and that helps to hold myself accountable and keep it up. I have a long road ahead, but every day is a step closer.

Hope you are all staying motivated, and I would love to offer you any support I can to help you stay on track too! Let me know how you're doing

Best wishes to ALL

Yes! Your hard work, commitment, & persistance are paying off! I don't have any great suggestions for how to change up your cardio Jill, (esp in this weather), but just try to keep challenging yourself. Sometimes if I force myself to try 5 more minutes - I end up going 10 or 15....
What I tried a few weeks ago (& will try again after it cools back to at least 85 in the early mornings) is adding a fast walk when I get home from the gym. Just 15-20 min, but go as fast as I can. Whew! That really worked up a sweat & gave me energy :)
And btw- my instrument of torture - favorite cardio is the elliptical too. See you soon!
June :)

So glad to hear that your scale is moving in the southern direction. I have had no luck this week, so far I have gained 3.2 lbs. ugh! But I think its because of all the working out that I am doing. I am working out 6 days a week. I am expecting to reach nearly 30 miles this week from the treadmill/elliptical by Friday. I am not worrying about the scale. I am thrilled that I am getting stronger. Good luck with your weigh loss goals. You can do it!

I'm still here ...

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

I'm still here! I have to say it's been hard to motivate myself to sign into Spark on a regular basis. Seems I have to sign into a million things a day with work, email, online banking, and of course Facebook, etc. etc., I just need to make it a habit, because I know it is a very helpful tool.

Speaking of habits ... I have been a regular at the local gym for about a month now. The first 2 weeks I REALLY had to push myself to get there and do what I could, but it's much more enjoyable now. Iíve lost 15 pounds in the last 5 weeks, but the weight loss seems to have stopped this last week, and I'm working out more than before, and my calorie intake is lower than what it takes to maintain current weight, so not sure how that is possible. Itís a little discouraging, but I will hopefully break through it soon.

Hope you all are doing well and staying cool!

Will do, June! Yes, I'm trying to stay focused on my goals and know that the benefits will overflow into the rest of my life. Thatís why I'm going to the gym so early, no distractions. Think Iím going back to nights, this early AM workout is a real struggle. Never been much of a morning person :-). By the way, LOVE the bike!

Here I go again!

Saturday, October 16, 2010

So, I have been away a long time, but decided to come back and give it another try. It's 3am and I'm up thinking how I just canít keep putting this off, and I have to get my mind right. No more tomorrows, I have to do this today! I want to do this today!

I hope to connect with those of you who understand what it is like to lose a great deal of weight only to gain it back. It's good to know it can be done, but just how to keep on that path is what I have to learn ... I hope being here with others will keep me on that path, and look forward to being inspired by everyone success and lesson they have learned through their own journey.

Okay, let's get this party started! emoticon

Welcome back! I too, am so thankful for SP - I think it helps a TON! Seems like we always need "someone else" to hold us accountable. But, if your mind is made up - then YOU'VE GOT THIS! Keep sparking - and enjoy your successes!

Week 1. Thank you Spark Friends

Friday, January 18, 2008

Hello Friends,

My goal today was to make my first blog entry, so here it goes :-)

Today makes one week that I've been on SparksPeople.com, and I've really enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.

Since last Friday I have lost 5 pounds, and it's been HARD. But, I don't think I would have even stuck to it, if it wasn't for all of you. Seeing your progress and hearing your stories makes it much easier for me to stay on track. When you know your not alone, things just get easier.

I do still need to add cardio to my plan, and that is my goal over the next few day.

If there are any of you that have just joined and have a lot of weight to lose, just remember that it wont always be this hard and there are a lot of people here ready to support you and understand your struggles

Thanks for all the support and words of kindness.

Well I am glad you decided to post. I think it was one of the hardest parts of this for me. Knowing that people can read what I have swimming in my head.. but I have learned through the process that it helps. This site, these blogs, all the teams.. they all help. So congrats on your first blog. The more you do it the better you will feel. You can work so many thoughts out in your head and share how you are feeling. It will get you through some hard times.

Way to go on your loss. That is fantastic. I have yet to see more than a 2 lb loss, but that is okay. At least we are loosing right.

Have a great weekend.
