Wow, grocery shopping works!

So for about 3 weeks, one with mother nature, one with a cold and one I just don't know why, but I have eaten horribly. It doesn't take long to see the difference!! I've been trying to figure why I was struggling and I figured it out! Even if i went to zumba, ran my arse off at the store everyday, I didn't have a food plan. So yesterday after zumba I grocery shopped, for home AND the store. Today I was able to say no when hubby offered bad foods, because I wasn't too hungry to heat a can of soup, throw together a sandwich or grab a special k bar. Today I ate perfect, FINALLY!! Ok, now i just need to lose 10 lbs bfore Thanksgving so I can eat bad again! Yayy!

This fri-sun was Poage Landing Day's in my town of Ashland, KY. It is located smack dab by my business. 3 city blocks are shut down and parking is obviously wiped out. I am pleased to say that we did very, very well! Lots of new customers and well as old customers who delt with the parking situation and made the long walk just to come in my store. I am sooo happy! Oh and EXHAUSTED!!

Why, oh why am I sooo tired? Oh, because I get up and open a store, run like chicken with my head cut off, answering the phone, waiting on customers, taking orders, ordering, unpacking and restocking, stressing, worrying and then I run off my steam and stress in zumba and walk/running, and all of this 6 days a week. One of these days all of this hard work will pay off, I'll have an employee or two and I'll take a nap! Shew!

College mom

It has been a busy couple of weeks, as well as expensive, but it is official. I am the mother of a college student. Lawd, it is hard to believe! I remember the night/morning he was born. The doctor coming into the room and waking me up telling me if we didn't take him now he may not make it. The dreaded C-Section the doctor promised my 20 year old body would not have to endure. He was tiny, precious, all 4 lbs 4 oz of him. I was amazed they let me bring him home 3 days later!

Now that little booger is in college and taking a job on the week-end midnights! Ruins my week-end visits! BLAH! I love that booger!!

Downsizing: It's official!

I have spent the past year and half not being able to wear my engagement ring and wedding band. After our Christmas Day engagement in 1994, hubby and I went to a pawn shop and got my rings. Quaint, but mine! They were a size 8's and fit most of the time, less so if I got hot and my fingers swelled.

I finally did it, it's finally official! My rings fit! I got them resized to a 6 3/4, wish I had gone on down to 6 1/2, which would be 1/4 less than my highschool ring size. Oddly the same pawn shop did my resizing and is just a few doors down from out new business. I guess this is how I say goodbye to my old self and hello and commit to the new, not size 8 ring size. It is another turning point. Every little one counts!
