Happy Easter

It's been a couple of days of very little exercise for me. The rest of the work week was crazy and I was exhausted at the end of each day. Yesterday was grocery and Easter shopping so not much done workout wise either.

Today, I'm looking forward to my 16 y/o daughter's surprise Easter gift.

Check out those huge ears! emoticon She's wanted another rabbit for the past 5 years so we finally decided to do it. He will be well loved and spoiled. Yesterday, while dd was out for the day, we had him out running around in our glass room. He and the dog (a golden) are becoming great friends already. It's really cute how they get along.

Dinner today will not be our traditional Ham and fixin's. We are having marinated steak tips, sweet potatoes, broccoli and carrots. I'm looking forward to having my son coming over to join us dinner before he has to go to work at 4:00.

Today's Plan for Success

My plan for today to have a successful day:

1. Morning 5K walk/run. I haven't decided yet if I'm doing this outside or on the treadmill. I struggle with being self-conscious running in public when I'm alone. I much prefer a running buddy. emoticon

2. Eat 80% healthy and LOG MY FOOD! I have been terrible with my food log, it's time to get back on the program fully! emoticon

3. Do my next Insanity DVD today. emoticon

4. Doctor appointment this afternoon. Still working on those anxiety and depression issues. emoticon

5. 90 minutes on the treadmill this evening. emoticon

Yesterday's workouts resulted in a first Fitbit badge for me....the Over 20,000 steps in a day badge! emoticon I also "climbed" 32 flights! Fitbit says I climbed the equilivant of Big Ben! Very cool!

Final Update for Tuesday

After my 3 miler at lunch today, I wasn't sure I would have much energy to come home and hit the treadmill; but, I changed into my workout clothes as soon as I came in the door and hopped on. 90 minutes later I've cranked out another 5 miles for the day bringing my workout minute total to160 minutes and 8 miles for the day. My fitbit is showing well over 2,000 steps for the day and 32 "flights" climbed.

All in all it was a great workout day!

Lunchtime 3 Miler

So, I headed out today for a nice lunchtime walk. The day is so gorgeous..how could I pass it up?

I decided to tackle the hill outside of my office driveway (I usually head in the other direction). Here is the start of the hill...really, how bad could it be?

Before I was even 4 minutes into my walk, I was breathing heavy and thinking maybe I should have gone the other way. emoticon But, I kept pushing on. This picture is approximately 1/4 way up the hill I was actually starting to get my hill legs moving better and the breathing was a little improved. Could that be the top I see up ahead? *SIGH*...not even close! But, I kept pushing on until I thought I might drop on the ground...where is the top of this thing???? OK, I get it, it's a huge hill; but, I see a bend in the road up ahead...is that the top? NOPE! It was just a tease! Approximately another 1/8 of a mile until I began a downward slope. Oh, thank God! The next 15 minutes were all downhill. What a great breather!

By the time I got to the end of that part of the walk, I realized I had only been walking 30 minutes (Dear God! It felt like 2 hours! emoticon) Well, what's a girl to do when she still has a half an hour of lunch break left? Yep! Keep on walking! I added on another 1.5 miles to make it an even 3 mile walk for lunch and managed to get back to the office in exactly 60 minutes. Phew! Now I need a nap!

I wonder if anyone would miss me if I close my door and put my head down on my desk for a quick nap? emoticon

Looking forward to hitting the treadmill tonight for a 2 hour stint as well. Unless it's still nice out when I get home...I may just hit the roads around my house. All this fresh, sunny air is so invigorating!

Another 2 hours done on the treadmill. I know I definitely started too late (7:15PM) so by 9:15 I was wiped out that I overslept this morning! emoticon

This girl has GOT to hit that treadmill when she gets home at 5:00!

    I know the feeling. A fellow sparker had a quote to the effect of .."If I had gone out to run when I first thought of it I'd be done by now." I need to keep that in mind. And with that, I think I'll head out.
