Christmas Candy Christmas Candy...

Matt and I received much candy for Christmas in our stockings. Granted, the candy is small mini sized such as snickers, hershey's kisses, and miniature reese's peanut butter cups, but I just can't resist grabbing a piece every time I walk by! Evident by my food logs. Keep in mind its the special week before you know what, but even before that I was grabbing a piece. Am I lacking that much willpower? At the very least I have to get up and walk to the table to get a piece and I only get one piece at a time. That's a lie....ususally one piece at a time sometimes 3. It makes me feel weak, but I can't throw food away. To me it's like throwing away money....the same theory applies to candles. I can't buy candles cause it's like burning money! Wish it was easier to let money go

Listen, Hon, this probably sounds gross, but I grabbed a piece of Hershey's candy that I found in my son's room, and it went into my mouth. SO, I went out to the kitchen and told myself what I OFTEN do in times like that "I can eat anything I want as long as I don't swallow it." SO, I tasted it, enjoyed it, and when I was ready to swallow, I spit it out in the trash.

Did you every deal with a 2 year old who didn't want to eat something like green beans, and you make her/him and they hold it FOREVER in their mouth and then spit it out? WELL, that is where I got the idea.
I know it is just MOUTH HUNGER. I'm NOT talking about bulemia here. I'm talking about TASTE. And when the moment (five minutes) gets over, I don't deal with that INNER BRAT Spondulex criticizing me and running me down.
Think about it next time, when it is just MOUTH HUNGER.

I usually send candy and treats and even sometimes half of anything I bake to work with my husband. That way it is out of the house, but I don't feel like I threw it out. Plus, if he wants to keep some in his desk for himself, who's the wiser? :) Hang in there!

Cheesy Boredom

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

So..I've done it already! I gave into my cheese temptation today. I ate half of a jar of Tostitos Salsa Con Queso and not even with BAKED tortillas! I don't look at this as a failure, but a challenge. If I can spend the rest of the day managing my food, I think I will still stay in my ranges. Does this sound like a good idea??? I'm already going to do a cardio DVD today to help burn some of the fat calories I ate. I'm bloated, but suprisingly not having feelings of guilt, but feelings of boredom still. Just wanted to share some bumps along the road.

Yes, DVD's are just as good as going outside, except for getting the fresh air and sunshine. emoticon

Cold Weather

Monday, December 15, 2008

It's freezing outside! To get to my gym I have to walk at least 5 minutes in the cold. It doesn't seem practical for me to get into my car and drive less than a quarter of a mile. I would just jog up to the clubhouse, but I carry a bag with water bottle, change of clothes, towel, soap, tanning lotion, headphones, and mp3 player. I want to start spending an hour at the gym, using the showers to rinse, then tanning in one of the beds to get some vitamin D and color on my pasty skin. I wonder if a backpack would be a good mode of transporting all these items while in a quick jog mode?? I just have to wear a heavy coat, ugh! At least I can check the mail daily ont he way back to my apartment. That's a plus!

not sure where you are.........i'm in wisc-- and it's cold!!

love yor attitude tho-- depends on how well you can move with a backpack-- but sounds like that may be the best careful coming back in the cold if you're may have to add a hair dryer to your bag

best of luck to you emoticon

perhaps a small backpack would help you to fetch what you need to take with you to the gym. you can do this!
