uphill battles.

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

So I saw this today, and I could relate in more ways than just one. I felt I could relate to it not only for this journey in being healthier, but also with my kids. Some days it feels like I will never get on top of things. I have one day where I get everything done that I wanted and then realize later that I missed something or other. I honestly think the only thing that keeps me motivated to get out of bed every day is remembering what it feels like to be on top of things. On top of my own personal mountain, and aspiring to do better than the day before.

Honestly though, some days I don't even come close to being better than the day before. Whether it be with my eating (recently) or something with my boys or something with my workouts. It all is just like one struggle to make it to the top. I really hope that once I make it there (because one day I will) that it is as sweet a view as I hope for.

I'm sure the view at the top is amazing but don't forget to take time to enjoy the view on your journey to the top.

my motivation

Friday, November 16, 2012

13 weeks. That is how long I have been working on bettering myself for this little guy

Everytime things get difficult and I think, "why bother?" My son does something wonderful like this that reminds me how much I want to be here for him.

Literally all the motivation I need.

It has been a few days since I posted a new blog. Just to give a little info I have still been doing well, working out daily, and watching what I eat. The past few days I haven't been as good with journaling my calories, but I have been keeping a mental track.

Monday I was only down .2 lbs though. Cue my frowny face because I know I can do better :(

I have cheated and peaked at the scale today though and I am down .6 lbs from Monday, so yay :)

My son is still doing wonderful. This Saturday I scheduled to have our family pictures done. Coincidentally it falls on Aiden's 3 month "birthday" and I think I am going to have them do extra poses with just him for that :)

Found out we will be hosting Thanksgiving which kind of sucks because my MIL can be very nitpicky about cleaning, so with my almost 3 month old I have to spend the next week getting my house spotless. Yay (read the sarcasm).

My dog finally seems to be getting better which is a relief to me. I was really getting worried I was going to have to take her back to the vet.

In the end that is how my life has been going. Already got the workout in for today. WooHoo! Hope everyone has a great hump day!

Love your title! Don't fret about the slower weight loss progress; they say the slower you take it off, the more likely it will stay off, so it's a good thing! Slow and steady wins the race. emoticon emoticon

too quiet.

Saturday, November 10, 2012

My husband had to work mandatory Overtime 2nd shift today. I am still waiting for him to get home. The house is eerily too quiet when he isn't here in the evenings. Him being gone left me in charge for all things bedtime for Aiden tonight.

He had his first run-in with rice cereal tonight! He really seemed to like it. I finally gave in and tried because he has been watching us eat very carefully for almost 2 weeks now, and today he actually grabbed at my food! I was so surprised and was planning to hold off on anything solid for another month even though his pedi recommended me giving rice cereal in a week (at 3 months) but I finally tried it and I am glad I did because he really was excited because he could tell how happy I was for him.

He is growing up way too fast. emoticon

Did my workout really late tonight, but still did it and gave it everything I had. Now I am just waiting for Ryan to get home so that we can have some quality time, plus he is off work tomorrow. YAY!

Oh and to keep myself up, Day 10 I am thankful for my brother and sister. We may not talk all of the time, but I know they are there for me and they know I am there for them in return. It is nice to have people to count on.

Nervous Nelly.

Friday, November 09, 2012

Today starts level 2 of 30 day shred, and I watched it to see what I am in for and I am so nervous to start!

Anyways- back on my thankful train,

Day 8- I am thankful that my in-laws make me feel like family. I may get annoyed with them from time to time, but I know in the end they look at me like their own.

Day 9- I am thankful for the few friends I have kept in touch with. They are truly the greatest.

Today I am going to meet one of those friends and her son who is about 5 months older than Aiden for lunch at Applebees. I love online menus so that I can determine what I want before I even leave my house and can add it to my calorie tracker. It makes things so much easier! and I am super excited for some tea. It doesn't last long in my house when I make it, so I give up making it at all. But anytime I go out I LOVE it.

Today may even get nice enough that I go out and take the dog and Aiden for a walk. We will see on that one though! Hope you all have a great Friday!
