Goals for Jan 3rd - Jan 9th

Sunday, January 03, 2010

What a wonderful weekend this was! We found more items for our little girls nursery and now the room is really coming together. I think it will be done by the date of my shower which is the end of February. I have tried to do as much research as possible on everything from swings, bouncers, cribs and so on. It is amazing the amount of stuff that is out there. It can be overwhelming as there are so many brands to choose from. But with a little patience and a TON of reading on the internet, we have bought most of the big items. It is a good feeling to know that her room will be done before hand and we can rest and much as possible before the big day!

I am excited about another week to work hard and reach some goals!! I want to start 2010 off STRONG! I am still feeling good but I am lowering my miles somewhat this week as I have had some increased heaviness in my abdomen and I just want to be careful not to overdo things. I had to rest this last week more than I would have liked, but in the end it was worth it as I was feeling better as a result and to be honest 20 - 25 miles a week right now is plenty. I am also go to try and add some stationary biking and swimming in this week. I need to get a new suit because my racing one from this summer will split in two if I try to wear that now! LOL!

Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Results from last week -
Miles - 18.24 miles
Time - 371 mins
Calories burned - 1,881

New Goals for this week -
1. Drink no less than 128 oz of water each day, but aim for 160 oz
2. Stay within calorie range - (1,500 - 1,900) and log all foods
3. Walk 25 miles for the week
4. Consume at least 90 grams of protein each day
5. Consume 35 grams of fiber each day
6. Burn 2,000 calories for the week

Fitness Plan for the week -

Sunday - 2 miles slow - Active rest day
Monday - 5 mile walk
Tuesday - 3 mile walk
Wednesday - 5 mile walk
Thursday - 3 mile walk
Friday - 5 mile walk
Saturday - 2 mile walk

Isn't getting the nursery stuff set up fun! Our furniture came in on New Years Eve and I had a great time decorating with what we have so far.

I hear you on the researching baby stuff. There are so many things and brands! Registering was totally stressful!!

Great goals! You are doing a great job pushing yourself without going beyond your limits!

You are doing fantabulous!!! Congrats on your pregnancy. Totally listen to your body. As you get bigger, you'll do less time and get a little slower. However, it's all good. As long as you keep active the weight gain will just fall right off within months of the pregnancy. I'm sure you've done tons of reading, just a tip, a woman's body takes about 18mths to get back to the stability it had before the pregnancy, so don't worry if things are quite the way you want them to be when they baby comes. Just do what you can and enjoy the little one :D

I have heard that swimming is the most awesome thing that you can do while your pregnant! What a GREAT plan! (I LOL about your bathing suit splitting in half, but maternity suits are SO CUTE!!!)

Make sure you take photos of that finished baby room :) You are working mighty hard on top of all that walking - you should be very proud of that activity level!

26 week belly photo and update!

Thursday, December 31, 2009

Today I am officially 26 weeks or 6.5 months along! I cannot tell you how fast this time has gone by. It literally seems like yesterday I found out I was pregnant and now I am almost entering the 3rd trimester!!!

I have had several request for a belly shot so I figured now is a good time to start doing those every couple of weeks or so. I have so many photos of me during my pregnancy so far, but I wanted a close up of my ever growing belly!

I feel really good this morning in terms of my energy. I am heading out for a 3 mile walk in just a bit. I know it is not the long walks I have done in the past but at least it is something. My next apt is in 2 weeks and I am hoping for another good report from my doctor. I may have to lower my calories a bit if I am not walking so much in the third trimester but we will see what he says.

Now for the beloved weigh in! I am now showing a 15.6 pound gain! I am GROWING! I have gained 1.8 pounds in the past two weeks and I am perfectly happy with this. First of all, I am in that big growth phase where I am supposed to be packing on a pound a week. Then you add in Christmas and our anniversary trip and I have only gained .9 pounds each week, therefore I am right on track! Thank goodness the holidays did not put me over. If it did, it would not be the end of the world, but it does feel good to still be on track!

I found a good chart to track my weight gain. It shows you the high end and low end of typical pregnancy gains, then of course the average or middle ground where you should be. I am right in the dead center for 26 weeks! Yea! Would I like to be towards the bottom or the low end, well sure, who wouldn't, but I happy with where I am. I just need to keep going strong with my goals and stay on track, so far so good! I really do think I can stay within my range of 25 - 30 pounds. Here is a link to the chart for those who are pregnant and would like to use it!

Only 98 days left to go until my due date of April 8th! As I am writing this blog, my little girl is moving and kicking around, her usual morning exercise routine! She is saying a BIG hello to the Spark family and she cannot wait to meet you!

I am now off to finish 2009 STRONG! A good 3 mile walk for me and my baby, drinking all my water, getting my fiber in and staying on track with my calories!

Results from my rest day...

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Today was just wonderful! VERY relaxing and just what I needed. I am debating how many miles I will walk tomorrow. I can tell a difference from today where I did very little and the days I push it hard. Maybe my body is telling me to slow it down a bit. I am thinking about walking 3 miles tomorrow and that is all, then see how I feel and I can always walk more Friday.

I did really well today with my food and water intake, though after drinking so much water I feel as if I am going to BURST! I can tell a difference in the last week in my belly. I feel very full. It is like a stretching on the sides of my stomach, it feels so heavy. Guess it is normal but it hurts. Maybe it is from all the fiber I have been eating or all the water or the fact that I am 6.5 months pregnant or a combination of all three! Regardless I feel SO huge tonight, my husband of course loves it and to be honest I do to, it just feels so heavy all the sudden! emoticon

On a side note not related to fitness. My husband just started to paint the bathroom next to my gym here in our house. Well, we picked out a lovely color called Lilac Gray, it is so pretty. Well he put the color on the wall and it is SO light we can barely see it! We wanted a light grayish/ lilac color but this is VERY light. I think we may have to go up a shade. So bless his heart, guess we have to go get another gallon. The joys of painting! Guess we should of got the sample color and tested it on the wall FIRST. Oh well......

I am updating stuff on our baby registry which is always so much FUN! I also need to start working on the invitations. We are looking at a few but have not made up our mind whether we want to do a custom one or get one through the sites online. I have a good 3 - 4 weeks before the invites need to go out so I have time.

Goals for today 12/30 -

1. Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies - DONE!
2. Consume at least 35 grams of fiber - DONE! 50 grams consumed
3. Consume at least 90 grams of protein - DONE! 101 grams consumed
4. Drink at least 128 oz of water (1 gallon) - DONE! 162 oz consumed
5. Log all foods and stay with in calories - 1,527 calories consumed

I am so proud of you, seriously, I love how you are putting the baby's needs first and really listening to your body, I am thrilled you are having such a wonderful, healthy pregnancy! PS this is the time the baby is bulking up more than developing, which is why she is starting to feel so heavy, TOTALLY normal!

I'm glad you had a great rest day! Reading your story about the painting reminds me of all the times we have had paint mess-ups! I know what you mean about feeling huge. I remember with Emily my first it was like all the sudden I woke up one morning and felt like I had swallowed a watermelon. But she is growing and you are taking such good care of yourself! She will be a healthy baby for sure and you will recover quickly I just know it.

Hope you have an excellent New Years!

Rest day but still have goals to reach!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

I am taking today off. Why? Well because I feel tried and it is a cold, rainy day here and it just feels right. I am going into town to run some errands and sit at Starbucks to read one of my baby books then try to get an appointment for a prenatal massage later before my husband comes home to paint. My husband told me to take it easy today and well if I am a good wife I need to do what he says, right?!?

Even though I will not be walking today, I still have goals I need to reach. Staying on track with my water, foods and so on are just as important as fitness, even more now so that I am feeding my little angel! 99 days to go until my due date!!!

Goals for today 12/30 -

1. Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies
2. Consume at least 35 grams of fiber
3. Consume at least 90 grams of protein
4. Drink at least 128 oz of water (1 gallon)
5. Log all foods and stay with in calories - 1,600 - 1,800
