Slow Going

Saturday, August 09, 2008

It's been tough to get back into the swing of things since we got back from vacation. I'm doing better on making sure I eat right but the exercising is taking longer than I'd like. So I asked for more help from Mike. He to a look at the exercises and "picked a few". If we can ever get to all the ones that he wants to try without collapsing we'll be burning more than it says I'm supposed to. emoticon We're slowly trying to work towards that. It's taking more time to get there than I'd like. But like they say small steps.

Hope not lost.

Well my husband Mike and I have been back from our vacation for a few days now. It was the first vacation that we went somewhere for a whole week since our honeymoon 10 yrs ago. It was also the first time I've been away from my girls for more than a day. I'm happy to say that both the girls and I survived. I was concerned about how I might have gained even though I tried to be good but still enjoy all the food. But I checked my weight yesterday and I'm happy to say that I only gained a pound. YEAH! Now I just seem to be having trouble getting back into the swing of things and exercising like before the vacation. But one day at at time I'll just try to go slow and not beat myself up(well not to much anyway:)) if I don't get it all done on that day like I'm supposed to. Just one pound is pretty good, hope is not lost.

My ultimate goal

So all of this is for me. But not like you might think. I want a farm. Not like one that has tons of acres filled with growing corn. Or full of cattle. But about 20 acres or so, depending on what I can find, I want to have several things. One is a garden that is organic maybe even certified. I want to be able to feed my family from it but also have some to sell. I also want a small orchard with several kinds of fruit. I want to have a stock pond so that if I want fish for dinner I just go outside and catch some. Around the pond have an area or two where people can fish and have a picnic for a small fee. In the fall I'd love to have a u-pick pumpkin patch with gourds and decorative corn.

I also want to have a few animals: some chickens for eggs, some goats for milk to make cheese and maybe make some health care products as well. Also have a cow or two and a horse maybe a donkey or burro. Just a few animals of different kinds so that I can have a little kind of petting area for when people come to the farm.

Granted this is allot, and it's not the only things I want to do, this is just the tip of the iceberg and it will take time. But this is what really want for myself and my kids.

week one over and done

Well I've been here a little over a week now. Things are getting a little easier in some ways. And yet there are things that still remain difficult. But I keep on chugging. My husband would like to do this now as well. I'm going to try to see if I can get him to sign up too. emoticon
