Be proud of who you are

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Don't say you're not important,
It simply isn't true,
The fact that you were born,
Is proof, God has a plan for you.
The path may seem unclear right now,
But one day you will see,
That all that came before,
Was truly meant to be,
God wrote the book that is Life,
That's all you need to know.
Each day that you are living,
Was written long ago.
God only writes best sellers,
So be proud of who you are,
Your character is important,
In this book, you are the 'Star'...

Have a Fabulous Day!

Awesome advice for us all ...

Love him or hate him....he hits the nail on the head!

~ Bill Gates ~

This should be posted in every school or kid's bedroom.
Love him or hate him , he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about
eleven (11) things they did not and will not learn in school.

He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings
created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and
how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something
BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping:
They called it opportunity.

Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault,
so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring
as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills,
cleaning your clothes and listening to you
talk about how cool you thought you were

So before you save the rain forest
from the parasites of your parent's generation,
try delousing the closet in your own room..

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers,
but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades
and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.
*This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters.
You don't get summers off and very few employers
are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF.
*Do that on your own time.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life.
In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds.
Chances are you'll end up working for one..

If you can read this... Thank a Teacher.
If you can read this in English... Thank a Soldier!
And for life and everything else you have... Thank God!!

I love this, and it's so true! I was raised this way, and I'm raising my kids this way. It's so hard for me to hear about the crap that goes on in their school. A kid twisted up my sons glasses. And instead of doing something, my son just sat there and let it happen. He then told the teacher. The principal called me and told me. I was then waiting for a call from the parent of the child who did this. NOTHING. Apparently, we don't need to hold out kids responsible for anything. They don't want to hurt any ones feelings. If my child would have done something like that, I would have been on the phone with that parent, paying for new glasses, and making my kid do some hard labor. Kids need to realize it's not all rainbows and sunshine.

Very helpful for all of us,especially helpful to our teenage offspring who seem to think the world owes them a living & do very little to help themselves.

Don't be a prisoner of your past, Be an architect of your future.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

We are all born into the world
For some special purpose ...
None of us are a waste.
So, don't be a prisoner of the past,
Be an architect of your future!

At my weigh in today it would appear that I have hit a plateau. :(

Ooooh well, one has to give the body time to catch up, I suppose, lol. I have lost 14.6 k's and 37 cm since beginning the journey on 26 April 2011. NOT bad! Hey, I'm practically feeling like a new person already. Why, a short while ago, I got up and hopped from my desk to the door of my office. I can't tell a lie, the earth did shake, and I had to hop from foot to foot, BUT I hopped!!! Whoo Hhoo!!!

Decide to have a good day, and then have it!

I'm clueless with metric stuff so I don't know what 14.6 k's and 37 cm translates into...but it sounds good, so good on ya!!!! And I love your attitude about the plateau. They're to be expected, we all reach them, but I know you'll bust through yours and be back on the "losing" track before too long!
