Love looks Out for Others!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through __________ ambition or ________, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem _______ better than himself. 4Let each of you look out not only for his own _________, but also for the______________of others.
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Jesus our best example:
Philippians 3:5Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, 6who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God, 7but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. 8And he humbled himself even further, going so far as actually to die a criminal’s death on a cross. ("He paid a deth he did not owe! I owed a deth I could not pay!"He paid for our sin's; that is love!) Read John 3:15-21

Ruth a good example of the meaning of this verse:

We see Ruth's loving devotion to Namoi her Mother in-law:

Ruth 1:15 And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16But Ruth said:

“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
17 Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

OH! I wish I had been more like Ruth when I first got married! I did not get alone with my Mother-in law! I was praying one day about the problem when I heard God’s small still voice speak to me; the problem with our relationship was with me, and not her. You see I saw the things I did not like about myself reflected in this precious lady! I repented and our relationship took on a different tract; all together. Ruth's love was so priceless! Oh! I sure would like to a have a daughter in law like that someday! I hope I do not get one like I was in the beginning! Oh! I have leaned much through the years.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. 6 It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Love will last forever New Living Translation

Philippians 2:3
3Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

    I also had difficulty with my m-i-l. Actually I got along better with her once I was divorced from her son! She had a very abused childhood and unfortunately was an abuser also. But I kept talking to her about Jesus, and finally she gave her life to Him!

Ephesians 5:
1 Follow God’s example in everything you do just as a much _______child imitates his father.

As a little girl I remember walking behind my dad! I put my then tiny feet into his large boot prints left in the snow! I wanted to be like Dad!

I remember the story of "Norman" the neighbor of a Christian who was in need of many things! He needed Jesus most! God told him to be a friend to Norman! Norman needed a bath a year ago! He probably had NOT had one for two years. At first he did not want to believe God was telling Him to do this! Yet! God won the battle! He did obey the Lord. He got out of his comfort zone! He cleaned Norman’s house, gave him a bath, took him places, and became a friend who showed Norman the way to Heaven! He became a member of his church! By the way Norman is in Heaven today! What might God ask you to do for Him? Will you say yes? Will I? Do you know any Normans? (Heard the sermon on T.V.-I do not recall the Pastor's name, maybe someone will know his name!)

Do you want to be like Jesus? Then our goal should be the message of: Ephesians 5:1

We may be asked to get out of our comfort zone! To go the second mile or even the 100th mile!

Ephesians 5:2
Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and gave himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins...

John 3:
16For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
18“There is no eternal doom awaiting those who trust him to save them. But those who don’t trust him have already been tried and condemned for not believing in the only Son of God.

Ephesians 5:
1 Follow God’s example in everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father.

The Living Bible, (Wheaton, Ill.: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1997.
! John 3:18 Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions. 19Then we will know for sure, by our actions, that we are on God’s side, and our consciences will be clear, even when we stand before the Lord. 20But if we have bad consciences and feel that we have done wrong, the Lord will surely feel it even more, for he knows everything we do.
The Living Bible, (Wheaton, Ill.: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1997.

Heavenly Father, Open my eyes to the needs of others! Help me to be your arms and hands extended to some hurting today! Forgive me Lord, for being blind to some needs and not doing my part in any area! Direct my steps and have your way Lord with my life today and always! I love you and praise you! I thank you for going out of Your way to save us all from our sins! I lay my comfort zone on your alter. Love some one in need today; use me as you will. In Jesus Name I pray! Amen!

Let's Smile! Jesus loves us!
We can bless others with our smile, also!

    I remember that lesson from many years ago in a Bible Study group. I've forgotten the writer also. But I do remember how the descriptions of his hair, nails, teeth and bathroom made us cringe.

Thanks for the reminder!

  What an informative and inspiring blog. Thank you for that. There is a lady in our church who lives in a motel and does not have a job or a car..she rides a bike! She walks to church, about 1/2 mile, and usually we take her home after church. During VBS, I picked her up each evening and took her to the church and then again home afterwards. I sometimes feel like it is a bother, but praise God, He keeps me going to her every week.

Facts and the Golden Rule!

Monday, September 07, 2009

1 John 4:11 ________, if God so ______ us, we also ought to _______ one another.

The man stood on the bridge and watch in horror at the seen being play out below him! A boat overturned and spilled out the people into cold and icy water. He did not stop to protect himself, or look the other way! He jumped in and was able to pull out five of the victims; one at a time!

A near-by news crew shot the whole thing and it was on the evening news! His wife seeing it said, to the children; that is something your Dad would do! She was right. 1

What do the facts of your life tells others about you? about me?

Who is your first love? Who is my first love?

W.W.J.D. What would Jesus Do? What did Jesus do for you?

The Golden rules tell us to do the same for others!

1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Matthew 7: 12“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. 2

Mark 12:
29Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30‘and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31“And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”2

The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.2

Dr. Ed Hindson told this story in one of his sermons. 1

Jenny, this is real good.
I've seen a gospel tract similar to this story. I wish I could show you the picture. I'll try telling you what it was like.
Some men and women that Jesus saved were high on a mountain in their fancy clothes. They were strolling and the ladies had sun umbrellas. It seemed as though they didn't notice the others at the base of the mountain that were in turbulant water and about to drown.
As I recall the tract was encouraging Christians to jump in to help. They wouldn't drown and might help another from drowning.
We need to continue to care about those who are drowning.

Thanks for reminding me honey! I need lots of reminders! Darlene

EZEKIEL 4–5 Some ideals from the: "With the word Bible commentary"

(God know the beginning from the end! So God's man of the hour Ezekiel, warned God's people!)

Ezekiel, God's prophet and watchman began his public ministry with four action sermons that declared God’s judgment against Jerusalem. He shows what God said in a way the people could understand! Ezekiels 13 symbloic acts were sermond object lessons. Read the book! You may like reading it in the Living Bible.

Ezekiel 4:1-3, Lam 3:43-44, Deut. 28:47-57.

God spoke to Ezekiel at least 90 times. By Willington's complete guide to Bible Knowledge. Page 124

First, he “played war” to demonstrate ......(4:1–3).

Why was God angry with His people?
1-Because they rebelled against His law (5:6),
2-defiled His temple (5:11),
3- did more abominations than the heathen nations around them (5:6–7).
4-They did not glorify the Lord
5- They used all His blessings to promote their sin.

Three hundred and ninety years is a long time to continue in sin! We can only marvel at the long-suffering of the Lord (2 Pet. 3:1–9).

(Many of God's people are warning us today!)

Read 2 Peter 3:3-9

Found in God's lost and found chapter of the Bible:

I Chose Jesus and His way! He has made a way for you and me to live in paradise for eternity! He gives us the eternal fountain of youth and truth! He will be with us here and help us on a daily bases! He wants to be the Lord of your life! He loves you and me!

John 14:6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

If you do not know Jesus as Savior here is what you can do!

Prayer is taking to God as you would a best friend!
He is God! Be reverant but no one loves you like He does!
He loves you!
Tell him that you want to give your life to Him!
Ask Him to forgive you for sins!
Ask Him to come into your heart and wash away the sins and make you whole! He will he loves you and me!

I love to pray the psalms from my heart!

Psalms 100

1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Let tell the world! Jesus loves them and has overcome death and sin!

    I am amazed at Ezekiel's faithfulness to what God told him to do. That must have been very difficult! Yet God's faithfulness is even more!
