I want to truly experience LIFE!

Thursday, August 12, 2010

A co-worker/friend brought me some Reese's Pieces today b/c i had mentioned the other day that i wanted some. I took 20 and i gave her the bag back. She told me to keep the bag and eat the rest of them. I told her no thank you because i have been doing really well with eating right and getting exercise daily. She told me that i was beautiful the way i am and that i shouldn't worry about my weight and what i look like. While i appreciate her comment, I explained to her that my weight loss journey isn't just about the way i look. I want to be healthy for myself, my husband and for when i have children. I want to truly experience life to the fullest. I want to be completely confident and not feel self-conscience. This got me to thinking about the things that i would like to experience once i have lost the weight. Here's my list:

-Learn to Skate
-Climb a Mountain
-Do the Flying Trapeze
-Go to a water park and not feel self-conscience
-Go to the beach and not feel self-conscience
-Ride amusement park rides and not have to worry about if i will fit
-White Water Rafting and not worry about falling out and not being able to get back in
-Maybe Skydive
-Go dancing and not worry about people watching
-Play basketball with my husband
-Play volleyball on the beach
-Do a sexy striptease for my husband (TMI?)
-Shop at non-plus size stores
-Ride a Jet Ski
-Have my husband be able to pick me up for more then a couple mins and not worry about hurting him.
-Ride a horse

This is a short list but i'm sure i will add more in the future.

Biggest Loser

DON'T LOOK SO FAR INTO THE FUTURE THAT YOU FORGET HOW FAR YOU'VE COME AND WHERE YOU ARE NOW!

Wow!!! Bob said this last night to one of the contestants on the biggest loser. It really touched my heart because that is me! I have been so focused on how far i have to go and how bad i want to be there that i forgot. I forgot the amazing progress that i've already made. I knocked off about 65 pounds already. I have a tendency to over look the huge accomplishment that i've already made because i am so impatient and i want to be at my goal NOW! So i'm trying to calm myself down.. I'll get there when i get there and i WILL get there. Thanks Bob from BL for your inspiring words!!!

How does that saying go? I can't see the forest because of the trees. I think that once Mike actually watched the video, it really hit home. We tend to get wrapped into the journey, we forget to look up, look around, and see just how far we have come.

Excellent job on your own journey! Woo Hoo!

Onwards..

Aw man Mike was driving me nuts. Lol. I just wanted to be like - Look at what you've done! So WHAT if you have far to keep going? Accept it, own it, and conquer it!

Thanks for this post I think a lot of us tend to focus on getting to the goal and not the journey we have already been on. You are doing great and like you said you have already achieved a ton of success, keep that in mind as you push forward to reaching your goal.

Dear 230's

When we first met i was so happy. It was love at first sight but things have changed. I've been flirting with 220's for awhile now and i've decided that that is where i need to be. It was great while it lasted but it's time for me to move on and i don't ever want to see you again. Sorry but i need to do what's best for me.

Love,

Jennifer

6 Months already???

Wednesday, July 01, 2009

Okay, so today is July 1st. I can't believe that i have been committed to losing this weight for 6 months already. In the past i would try to lose weight for about a month and give up. I guess i was never truly ready. I knew this time was different. Nobody really believed me when i said that but here we are 6 months later and 47 pounds down. I am so proud of myself. I have really changed my lifestyle and can't imagine going back to the old me. Many of my loved ones have changed the way they eat and have started to work out because of ME. It's a great feeling to know that you have inspired people to better there lives. My brother has lost 60 pounds..... His fiancÚ' has lost 40 pounds..... My co-workers have lost over 50 pounds. That's crazy... we have lost a obese adult! I am really excited to see what the next 6 months brings.

emoticon I totally get where you are coming from with the 6 month commitment. I think it's because this is a lifestyle change and not a "diet" this time. Kudos on being a motivator for all the people in your life! Keep up the great work. emoticon

I let them get the best of me.

Monday, April 13, 2009

Okay.. so i was doing great. I lost 32 pounds in a little over 3 months. I had a lot of family drama last week having to do with my brother and his fiancÚ'. I let it & them get the best of me. I ate horrible and didn't work out for 3 days. Oh and i gained 2 pounds back because of this mess. I don't know why i let people get to me so bad. I need to get back on track.... I wish i had a reset button!
