What Went Well 8-20-14

Number 1: The roofer finally came at about 11:30, which meant I got to both deal with him and go to the dentist. But the good news is that he thinks we only need to replace the roof over the garage and not the rest of the house. This is good. Both because it is less money and because it should be quieter. School starts soon and since we are homeschoolers having the roofer get pounded on isn't good for studying.

Number 2: My daughter has a physical therapy appointment for later today. Hopefully this person will understand what we are trying to do and be able to help her with her joints. Today is about her ankle since that was bothering her more. We will probably try to get some information about how to treat the wrist too, but not this time.

Number 3: Even though I was at the dentist when I usually am biking, I got my biking in anyway. It was about one in the afternoon instead of eight in the morning. But I did it.

What Went Well 8-19-14

Number 1: We went to the library to pick out books. My ten year old has found a new author that he likes and he needed the next book in the series. (The author is James Patterson.)

Number 2: That same ten year old is not ready to have summer vacation be over, but he decided that we needed to start read aloud time this week instead of waiting until Monday because he thinks that part is okay.

Number 3: The new trainer is wonderful. Other that not understanding that short really means short, he was great. (It is impossible to do a jumping pull up if you are standing on your toes to reach the bar.)

Number 4: Husband is going to be home to deal with the man coming to check out the roof while I am at the dentist. I don't know who got a better deal here, but at least everything is going to get done.

Number 5: I stuck with the program even after the workout. It helps that there is not junk food in the house that I can eat. I wouldn't want to eat anything with lactose or almonds and most junk food contains one of them.

I'm with you on the Dentist, not sure why most people have such a fear, but I do, and I have to make an appointment with mine...just not looking forward to it. *L*

Have a great day! emoticon

My son loves the James Patterson books too! He is also 10yo but I don't homeschool - that's a lot of work - kudos to you!

I love how you focus on "What went well" on your blogs - focus on the positive, not the negative

What Went Well 8-18-14

Number 1: My youngest had two baby teeth pulled. The dentist said they had very long roots and were definitely not coming out on their own. My son had no pain and did great all day. WooHoo!

Number 2: The weather and company at the park were great. All of my kids found someone to talk to and enjoyed the day. I happily talked to a friend. It was good.

Number 3: I stuck to the food plan even when it was hard. WE got home from the park at 5;30 and everyone was hungry. The kids had ice cream sandwiches. I ate a bag of beef jerky. Dinner came about 8:00, this is normal for us. And fajitas aren't bad for calories, meat and veggies are good. I did eat one small tortilla but only one.

And that was a Monday.

YAY on all counts, my daughter, or my son, had long roots, too, but kids bounce back quickly. Good for you on the food plan, you did fantastic, something to be proud of.

And so glad you got the chance to talk to a friend, it's hard to find the time sometimes, so YAY for you!

Have a great day, enjoy!

Number 1: The first football game at the new 49ers stadium didn't cause us traffic nightmares. We did not have people parking in our neighborhood. This is all a good thing.

Number 2: I went to see a student production on Mid Summer Night's Dream. The kids did well. I don't appreciate Shakespeare so I was kind of bored, but that isn't the fault of the acting.

Number 3: My youngest has terrible constipation issues. He takes daily meds and it usually keeps things going well. For the past week... it hasn't gone so well. I think that yesterday we solved the immediate problem. This makes for a happier him and a happier me and far less laundry. This is also a really really good thing.

Number 4: We got the bid on fixing our leaky and in need of help shower. It was pretty much what we had budgeted so as long as they don't find problems we are good.

Number 5: The syllabus for the older kids' chemistry class was posted. This is good because it is information. But it is not good because it includes multiple research papers and that may be a really bad thing for my older son. He is ready to take chemistry but he is not ready to write research papers. I am trying to figure out what to do about this now. Mostly I am waiting until he wakes up and I can talk to him.

And that was a summary of a good day.

Love #1 - we watched the game (we live in VA) and my son kept saying that this was the first game played in the new stadium - he loves football

I used to love Chemistry, but definitely understand people not liking it, research papers are the worse. :D

I love Shakesphere, too, but there's so much foreshadowing, etc going on throughout it, that it's sometimes hard to grasp onto, that and the language used, is sometimes tough to get ahold of what's going on, but I always did enjoy it.

I hope things start to go well for your youngest, and it sounds like you're doing well on the budget for your shower, that's wonderful.

Have a great day ahead, and enjoy it all! emoticon

What Went Well 8-16-14

Number 1: I met the owner of the new gym I was going to look at and decided to try it out. I have a training session with Sean on Tuesday at 2:00. I hope it works out well. One of the things that told my this was going to be a good place was the jump ropes. They had one for short people that was really meant for short people. It didn't have knots to shorten it; it was made that way. This is huge for me. Most gyms seem to think that everyone is tall or at least taller than I am. This gym didn't.

Number 2: I watched the Little League World Series yesterday. Rapid City, South Dakota lost in a heart-breaker of a game. They played well and almost pulled out a last inning rally. Today I will watch another Little League game and hopefully it will be just as exciting.

Number 3: My whole family went into Great America last night to see the final shows of the season for Aerial Ice and On Broadway. The shows were amazing! And the best news is: Aerial Ice is back for next year and the showtime theater is getting a new show too! We stayed for the fireworks and watched from a new spot and that was good too. It was a good day.

Number 4: I suppose I should mention this one, since this is a weight loss site. I was down about a pound from last week. Still not down to where I was two weeks ago, but getting closer. And in a far better headspace.
