What Went Well 9-18-14

Number 1: I saw a rainbow on our bike ride.

Number 2: There are nice people at the DMV. We spent over two hours there, but in a couple weeks, all three of my kids will have state id.

Number 3: We will find a solution to the swimming problem. Youngest got a new teacher last night and this one made him cry. I am so not thrilled at the teacher turnover at this place. It wasn't this bad when we started, but we seem to have gotten a run of bad luck. There is a solution, we just haven't found it yet.

I like how you look forward to a solution even if you don't know what it is yet.

Number 1: I didn't have to go anywhere.

Number 2: The stuff that was left on the roof from Monday's repair is gone. And the roofers are done!

Number 3: I watched the end of America's Got Talent live. I was surprised at who won. Happy but surprised.

Number 4: My kids needed some random stuff for chemistry class and I had it. A large balloon and a film canister!

What Went Well 9-16-14

Number 1: Youngest son had another good day in the bathroom. It looks like giving him the All Bran Buds was a bad idea. It has too much fiber for his system to take at once. Mini wheats are okay and muffins are okay.

Number 2: Our csa box arrived and we now have a whole bunch of interesting fruits and veggies in the house. We got a couple of melons that I didn't think anyone would eat so I put them in the blender and made smoothies with them. I didn't know melon went in smoothies so well. Kids enjoyed it, so that was good.

Number 3: I talked to the guys doing the bathroom redo and they are making progress and it looks good. My husband and I picked out tile for the floor and shower. I think they look good together. Gray, kind of fabric-looking, tile for the floor and white for the walls.

Number 4: I saw my trainer. I am tired. I was given some stretching to do at home for homework. I hope it helps with the recovery time.

Number 5: I went to my recorder lesson. Slow progress. But at least it is progress.

Number 6: In the middle of all the chaos I am still getting in my bike rides. It is the easiest way for me to get my dots on my fitness tracker. (It is a Shine.) So I have been just getting it done.

Number 1: My son was successful in the bathroom all day. This is good. Unfortunately he also hard poop which was not in the plan. And worst of all, it might be my fault because I gave him too much fiber. Good grief this is hard. I really hope today goes better.

Number 2: The garage roof has been taken apart. They are half done.

Number 3: We got an updated estimate on the redo of our bathroom. I hate mold. I hate leaks in the walls. And I hate trying to match tiles. But we do have the money to pay for it.

Number 4: We played with some new kids at the park and it was good.

Number 5: I managed to talk myself down from an anxiety attack at midnight. Youngest child and his digestive problems started really getting to me so I pulled out a book called "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie and read some of it. It has helped every time I have read it. Anyway, I used the ideas in it and sent a second email to the doctor and then was able to sleep. I could really handle skipping the worrying step.

Jenne, have you thought of giving him Natural Calm (a powdered magnesium)? There are different flavors and there is a kid's version (though my kids always just did the adult version with me).

Number 1: I went on my bike ride.

Number 2: My kids played a Star Wars rpg with my husband and gave me some time alone.

Number 3: We chose not to go to a picnic because of the football game happening near our house. It was a good choice. There were back ups of two hours to get into to the parking lots on the roads that we would need to be on.

Number 4: I stuck with the food plan.
