Raw foods week:)

Saturday, July 27, 2013

Well, to begin, kind of a busy week. Got back from the beach and then it was our anniversary! So some celebrating went on this week.
Do oysters count in the raw foods category?? Lol! I'm thinking not. But I did have some this week.
I made some fresh pico de gallo from veggies and herbs from our garden, I also made some awesome guacamole!!

Later in the week we had some cucumbers and fresh dill from the garden, and our first heirloom tomatoes were ready! These are called black prince and mortgage lifter!

And a simple salad:)

No loss this week, but I for sure know why. I can't complain, had a fabulous time!

Just another example of a few of my fav medifast meals, and a simple lean and green dinner!
A lean ground beef burger and roasted green beans:)

These are frozen green beans. I just thaw them out, and toss in a little olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. You can broil them in the oven, bake them, or roast them in a skillet on the stove top! Yum!

I'd be interested in how you roasted the beans. Were they fresh beans? I am going to try to grow some of those this fall!

SEASON OF THE BEAST! WEEK 3

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

I am following the Medifast plan. This is a typical day of Medifast meals on the 5&1 plan. It consists of 5 medifast meals per day, and 1 "Lean and Green" meal that you prepare for yourself. There are about 70 different medifast meals that you can combine as you choose to make up the 5 meals. Here are a few of my favorites:)

The lean portion is 5-7 oz of lean protein, and the green is 3 servings of low carb veggies. Tonight we had a very delicious dinner! Grilled Lemon basil chicken, grilled cauliflower steaks, roasted asparagus, and a small tomato salad.
Doesn't that look YUMMY!

Season of the Beast Challenge!

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

This girl is ready!! For my main challenge I have chosen the push-ups:) a bit intimidating, but I feel that I can benefit the most from this. My core muscles are in desperate need of being rescued!! Bonus Challenge for the week- DONE:) I am so happy and excited to be a part of this team. Ready, Ready Ready!!!

I have several other mini goals in mind for myself. We are leaving for our summer vacation in 24 days! The reality of that has caused me to be a bit anxious. I have GOT to up my stamina by then to be able to handle the walking in the sand and chasing my kiddo around non stop:) Let the count down begin!
*Jumping into this push up challenge, plus doing daily cardio on the elliptical. Going to try to shoot for increasing the time by a minute each day.
*Drink Water!!! Goal of a gallon a day. Minimum.
*As far a nutrition goes, I am back to the Medifast plan. It is a simple and effective plan that works well for me, I just have to stick with the plan!! That is one of my goals for the next 24 days. Be 100% faithful! No cheats!
*Floss!! May sound silly, but I have gotten in to a bad habit of forgetting this! Need to make this a priority in my routine:)
*Moisturize daily! Lord knows my poor skin needs it!

That's all that has been running in my head for the day. Excited and so thankful to finally feel motivated again!
