Are There Clothing Styles You Do Not Dare Wear?

Monday, April 16, 2012

I am envious of people who are heavier than I and wear certain clothes beautifully that I have censored myself from. I do not have a self-concept high enough to wear strapless tops or exercise wear. I see overweight women who look fabulous and confident in chic workout wear. I cannot stand to look at myself in the fully mirrored gym wall. I tried on a tube top today and a sleeveless tank, both black of course. I was pleasantly surprised that I might be within striking distance of feeling good enough to wear such things. My upper arms and gut do not look that bad anymore. Just 20 more pounds and imagine...

Definitely comfort! I was never bothered wearing sleeveless shirts, no matter how much I was flapping in the breeze. But CAPRIS? NO, NO!

As I started losing weight I started adding capris to my wardrobe!

Take it a step at a time, and wear what makes you comfortable, it will change as you lose the weight!

I think its all about comfort. If its not something you are comfortable wearing, you would be fidgeting and thinking destructive thoughts while you are in the outfit.... (no matter the size).

Easter Pigout

Sunday, April 08, 2012

The past two days were eating disasters for me. Tomorrow is my weigh in day, too. I am looking for positive things to say about myself; at least I am recording everything I ate and am committed to facing the scale tomorrow. I just can't bear to tonight. I have workmen coming in early tomorrow morning, which will probably create another stressful day. My poor choices today were at family Easter gathering. emoticon emoticon

walk at least 10,00 steps a day. my sister lost 93 pounds just walking.

find foods that work with YOUR body chemistry.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 39 pounds .

i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.

you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.

I have gone from 198 to 159 pounds. i can now fit into a size 12 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 12 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.

one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth

i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt great.

Stress Eating is My Biggest Enemy

Monday, April 02, 2012

So far so good; I read some inspiring blog posts here and have been able to resist an eating binge. I have been thinking about what my biggest obstacles have been throughout the years as far as controlling my weight goes, and have reached the conclusion that stress eating has undermined me countless times. I have been retired a number of years but now am finding I must re-enter the work world. That thought alone causes me quite a bit of stress. I have been having dizzy spells for two weeks now, and that does not help matters. I need to find simple ways to de- stress. I will try a warm bath right now. I am proud that I am spending time planning like this. In the past, I would have gone straight to the kitchen!

Fighting a Craving

Monday, April 02, 2012

I can think of nothing else but chocolate today! It is dragging me down because it keeps coming up in my thoughts as I try to go about all the work I have to do. Here is how not having money actually might help me! I maxed out my credit card over the weekend having to buy a new microwave and coffeemaker because both broke, and after buying groceries for the week there is nothing left over to go to the store for a chocolate bar. I have some cocoa powder in my cupboard; am going to try mixing some into my coffee to see if it will stop me from obsessing over chocolate.

Tired Saturday

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I am pretty tired. I broke my coffee maker (my fault) and my microwave exploded (not my fault). I stayed up to research affordable replacements, but ended up paying so much I felt faint. My original coffee maker cost around $20; a comparable new one cost me $31. The old microwave cost $25; the cheapest I could find was $74! This was grocery shopping day so we maxed out our credit card on these two things. These are appliances we use 7 days a week, so I had to replace them. I am mentally tired from the stress so I hope I can go to bed at a decent hour tonight. Lost sleep thinking about the broken stuff last night. I am very motivated to watch what and how much I eat, so that was the highlight of my day- success with this!
