Wow, a whole week since I blogged last

I have been doing pretty good. Down 15 lbs from the original start weight and 8 since I started Sparks.

Walked 2.25 miles today and moved everything out of and back into my shed to re-organize it.

Now I'm sitting here waiting for my daughter to get home from her Saturday night and I am off to bed.

Wait, I also have to change the clocks. I dislike Daylight Savings Time.

Dr Pepper Fixation

Sunday, March 04, 2012

I just figured out. I am a comfort eater.

I don't feel good tonight and I want food. Any food except fruit. I want Dr Pepper and nachos. I really want Dr Pepper. To the point, that I was considering getting up, getting dressed, getting in the car and driving the 15 miles to the closest store.

It really is sad, how badly I want one. I want a Dr Pepper more than I have ever wanted a cigarette in my entire life.

Pathetic really, when you think about it, but that is the way it is. When I am sick, I want Dr Pepper and spicy food. Any other day, I can pass it by but give me a sore throat, headache and fever and I want one NOW and nothing else hits the spot.

I love your honesty! So I'm wondering...did you go get that Dr. Pepper??? :) I agree with Kathy, sometimes we simply must have our craving and lighten it up if we can. But it is also wonderful to work through the craving period to wake up the next morning realizing that we made it! Woo Hoo! The more we replace those moments with positive things...the more we don't want those cravings any more. And I like cherry vanilla diet DP too. I only drink them on occassion.

Stay strong! If you really feel you gotta have it, then yes, the diet kind would be the way to go, but also think how PROUD you will feel to hang in there and beat that craving. When I started realizing some of my trigger foods and knew I had to cut them out or it meant a binge, it was tough. Now, I don't even want them anymore. emoticon

It kinda felt good, LOL.

Let me tell you. Walking today was just about the last thing I wanted to do, my allergies are really acting up. Head hurts, eyes hurt and I can't breath. I had almost talked myself out of doing it. Convinced myself that I really needed to take today just to feel better. But here is the thing, resting does not make your allergies any better, in fact, with me if I don't keep active it will turn into a full blown sinus infection.

So I grabbed my daughter and headed out the door.

Wait are those rain clouds, definately rain clouds, maybe we should head back. This might be a cold not allergies and I don't want to get caught out in the rain.

My daughter, "Mom, rain does not make you sick, suck it up."

Did I mention, I love my daughter, especially when she throws things I say back in my face.

.5 mile - Not feeling to bad, but this head wind is killer 25+ mph, but I get to turn around soon.

1 mile - Hey, I can breath again, how did that happen.

1.5 mile - Back to facing the wind, this is not fun, going up hill with a headwind when I can't breath, wow. What is that on my face? Rain, great just great.

2 mile - Almost back home, I can do this.

2.25 mile - Home, Yes I made it!!!!!!

70 and then SNOW

Friday, March 02, 2012

Seriously, it was 74 degrees yesterday. Took a 2 mile walk, this morning what is it doing SNOWING. Geez, unbelievable. Good thing that today is my strength training day because there is no way I'm walking in the snow and the gym is not in my time management today because I have to work at the concession stand for the Girls Class 2A Championship game tonight. (Did I mention that I really don't like girls basketball? I'm not even sure why, it just seems to take FOREVER.)

At least it is suppose to be in the upper 60s all next week.
