Day 2

Okay, so I am so glad that basketball season is almost over. Working in the concession stand, it is hard to stay on track. I went over by 220 calories today. Not to bad considering but not what I wanted. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

I got my BFF to publicly announce to EVERYONE in town (if it is on facebook it must be true right, LOL) that we are running in a 5K on July 8 for the MLB Allstar Game 5K Charity Run. So it is official, the funny thing is that my work out plan had me running a 5k that week before we even knew it was happening. It must be fate. We live in a very small town (pop. 175) so now there is no way we can not do it. The run is for breast cancer, prostate cancer and stand up against cancer which in our little community are a big deal because we just lost a great member of our life to breast cancer last year and two of my uncles are fighting prostate cancer right now.

I find it amazing how things just seem to fall into place at just the right time.

  Remember that we are starting off slowly. We are supposed to be making life changes, not just dieting. You are doing great! You did some exercising yesterday, and really you are on day 2! Going over 220 isn't so bad at this point.

I am sorry to hear that you lose someone to cancer. I lost my aunt to cancer 5 years ago. My father in law has prostate cancer, but thankfully it is not progressing right now.

Keep up the good work. Your 5K will rock!!!

First Full Day

This is my first full day on Sparks!! So far I really like it.
Got up this morning and did my morning routine, had a small bag of pretzels and coffee for breakfast. Not the most healthy but it sounded good and since I normally don't eat anything for breakfast it actually is a step in the right direction.
I worked on my Hawaii project for the first half of the day and then did my day 2 exercises. I had decided previously to slow ease myself into exercise since that is the place that I normally mess up on. So my day 2 exercises were 30 jumping jacks and 15 crunches, tomorrow will be just a little more.
School tonight after some homemade pork fried rice which I love.

    It's best to start slowly and not overwhelm yourself. You are moving in a positive direction. Tracking your food and exercise is key. Next most important is drinking enough water.
