Life changes

Sunday, March 18, 2012

My life has changed so much over the last few years. My youngest son is home schooled now. My oldest son has given me a grandson and he also moved out and into his own apartment. My daughter will be starting her last semester in college in a few months. AND...I have lost 20 pounds!! :) I have had several procedures done to find out what was wrong with my tummy, come to find out, there wasn't anything to bad. I just have to watch what I eat and found out I can't take Ibuprofen or the allergy medication I have been taking for over 13 years. I eat more fruit and vegetables and quit drinking soda and stopped eating so much sugar and sodium filled foods. I feel pretty darn good! emoticon

Hurry up and wait

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

I have to be honest, I am VERY impatient. Today is another day of hurry up and wait!! I wake up early, well 7:00 a.m. to get my oldest kids off to school and then I come home and have my coffee, check my fb, myspace and of course SP pages! After that is finished I have the energy, from the coffee, to get off of the couch and do some housework or if it is nice outside, walk! The past couple of days it has been the same thing but with alot of waiting. Waiting for this and waiting for that...to much waiting. I am not a procrastinator, I do what I need to do and get it over with so waiting is not my thing! lol It seems that tomorrow the wait will be over and I can finally start shopping for our trip. I love to shop, but I don't like what I see when I am in a hurry. Oh well, this is not me complaining, this is me happy and excited. BEACH CHAIR HERE I COME!! LOL Have a wonderful day everyone!

Yesterday I had an eye exam and the appointment included lots of waiting. The doc apologized about three times for having me wait. Finally, I said that I thought going to the eye doctor WAS about waiting..first the exam, then the dilating of the eye, then seeing the doc... My expectation was so low, I guess, that I wasn't upset at all about the time it all was taking. My perspective made my doc laugh.

God had to have laughed at that plan

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Do you know that saying "if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plan?" Boy is that true. After typing my last blog entry, but before I hit post, my niece knocked on the door. It was all down hill from there. To make a long story short, not only did I spend 5 hours in the ER with my son the night before that but I spent 5 hours in the ER with her not an hour after I posted that blog. Everyone is alright, it was a great deal of drama that led to the visit to the ER but she (and my son and his 7 stitches) are both fine.

Tomorrow is my youngest son's birthday, he will be 12! I don't think making a plan for the day would be very smart so we are going to wake up and see what happens. The only thing that we do "plan" to do is go with my sister, and that plan almost always works out...lol

I am sorry to anyone who has emailed me, I have not had the energy to get on here. Although, I did go to Guns N Hoses last night with my husband, sister and brother in law...It was great! I ran up and down the stairs about 6 times and didn't feel a bit of pain or shortness of breath, although, there were much younger people in front and behind me that were complaining about their legs burning..that felt good. Not that they were struggling, but that I wasn't. Oh, one more thing, I also had a bartender from the FOP tell me that I had lost alot of weight, without me saying anything. Validation is always nice! :)

Sounds like you have had a crazy weekend! Glad to hear you got some fun out of it as well and ALWAYS nice to have anyone outside of those who know what we are working on to acknowledge our hard work!

Hope your sons birthday goes off without a hitch tomorrow!

A hot day and a rough night

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Yesterday started the way I like it to start..kids to school, me to the tanning bed (which I only do for a month or two a year, I have to get my tan on to go to Florida.) When I got home I tried to get my son's DS hooked up to our wireless, I was sooo unsucessful at that, it still isn't online. My sister called and asked me to take my niece into Evansville for the Dr. I figured that would be a good time for my niece, my son and myself to check out the Greenway Passage..all is well! About 1 1/2 miles into it, I was barely able to walk, I was wearing flip flops..ya ya, I know that was not very smart..lol Well, I got 2 blisters on the bottom of my foot and it was killing me so we cheated and got my sisters vehicle from her work, which is right on the Greenway, and drove back to my vehicle. I was happy that we walked but I was regretting not wearing the right shoes. Well, after my nieces appointment, we were headed back to Mt. Vernon when I got the call all moms fears. My son cut his foot and needed to go to the ER. We got home and sure enough, it was nasty. To shorten this story, we spent 5 hrs in the ER. uggg. Now I am worried that a "bad kid" (my words, I will own them..lol) will kick him in his heel and bust his stitches.

Today will be better then yesterday! :) I refuse to let anything get me down!
