I joined a Sparkteam today!

This is exciting! I think I need to be accountable and it will be nice to have a community of people all working towards a common goal.

The leader of the group seems very nice and very supportive and that's perfect for me!

After the terrible weekend...it was actually a lovely weekend...I spent it cooking. Big batches of chicken noodle soup, beef stew and pulled pork. I am freezing dinners so the dinnertime won't be so stressful over the holiday season. I said it was terrible because I ate like crazy. I was "tasting" everything and then I made brownies (oh sure, I can resist them!) and ate about 3. Had 2 glasses of regular coke...almost had a third, but I stopped myself. Had a SNICKERS bar. UGH!

I'm back on track today - I had a healthy breakfast and I have my healthy snacks and lunch with me.

I'm gonna get there, I know I can, I will figure this out!!!

I am so happy! Sparkpeople is just what I needed. I could never lose weight on my own before. Even when I thought I was doing well I obviously was not.

Whenever I would watch shows about obese people who lost weight and at first the weight just fell off, I would be so jealous and wonder why that wouldn't happen for me. It was because I wasn't following a plan and I really didn't know what I was putting in my mouth!!

And you know what? It IS happening for me. I haven't been doing well with exercise at all - it's been all food changes for me so far and the weight is falling off!! 23 pounds in 6 weeks! My cute little spark scale doesn't show that because I lost 11 pounds before I started Sparkpeople, but I know it and that is what's important.

AND...get ready for this - pants that I bought a bit tight on 10/7 fit perfectly now! WOO HOO!

  


My Weekend

I did so-so this weekend with food. But I was extremely motivated yesterday and I prepared healthy snacks and dinners for the week. I feel good doing the prep on Sunday - that way if I'm tired when I get home from work dinner is really 1/2 way done for me - YAY! It makes it a lot easier not to say "let's just go out".

My friend is here from Arizona this week. We had a few drinks on Friday night and I went over my calories. I went over my calories on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!! I'm ok with it, though, because I know that I'll be back on track today.

I'm down 6 more pounds. I started at 298 at the end of August. I started trying to eat better on 9/11. I joined SparkPeople on 10/3. My weight is now 281 pounds. 17 pounds! I am so proud of that and I'm starting the week very happy.

Now if I could only get my exercise program going.........
