Memorial Day Weekend

I am so excited... I have a 4 day weekend!! I am leaving tonight to visit my parents, they live about 20-30 minutes south of Indianapolis. My little sis (22)is 6 months prego and her last ultrasound is tomorrow morning and I am going!!! This will be my first one and hopefully 'IT' will show us the gender! hehe.. Afterwards my mom, sis, and I are going to look at bridesmaid dresses and maybe even wedding dresses... how exciting?!?!

Honestly I am just excited to be around my family... I miss them so much and it will be nice to have 4 days with them! I think me and my little bro (6) are going to camp out in the backyard! hehe.. fun!! Then Saturday I want to spend some QT with my dad... it seems like we never get to because he is always fixing my car or messing with the house... hehe.. he is non stop!! :0) So we are going to make lunch plans!!!

I need to get away for a little while... this is going to be awesome!

    I hope you are having a great time but not too much fun :) Don't want you to get any crazy ideas, like moving!! Have fun looking at dresses, it will be fun, for the first hour!! :) We'll miss you on Saturday.

Not sure what is going on but I am stuck on Taco Bell this week. Not only did I eat it Sunday, but I ate it Monday night and Tuesday night!! And I didn't even try to get the items with the least amount of calories, I loaded up!! It is almost 'that time' and I know that has a lot to do with it! But I can usually control my cravings to once a month.... not this time! I lost almost 4 lbs last week and I am very close to my goals... I can't be eating Taco Bell everyday! The worst part is that after eating I just want to lounge around the house and do nothing. So far I haven't done any cardio in the last 2 days! Hopefully that will all change tonight! I hate the way I feel when I eat bad and don't get my exercise.

TODAY... I will get my butt off the couch and get on the treadmill!! I will not eat Taco Bell, but something healthy and within my calorie range!! I will do all my crunches and PU! I will not fail this week!!

    OMG, I totally know what you mean about TB! I work for Yum so there is one in our building. Not good. Not good at all. Last week I had it 3 times and I am no where near that TOM.

Hope you got through the day ok. Resist the taco!!!

  It really helps to put your daily goals into writing!!!! It makes us more accountable to ourselves. You can't do anything about the past. Just focus on the day at hand. You can do this!!! Drive by Taco Bell.....Head for the salad bar. Have a great and healthy day!!! Linda (PS Congrats on that 5K. I wish I could go that far...Maybe this summer I will start training to run again. )

My First 5K

Much to my amazement, I completed a 5K this past Saturday (May 12)!! I finished with a time of 47:23 which is better than the time on my treadmill! :)

I did a pet friendly, competitive 5K with my doggy, Maria! She did great! Once she got the hang of it! :) It was the longest we have ever jogged/walked together, so it was a learning experience. I plan to continue the training with Maria and eventually I would like to get under 30 minutes! :)

Our next 5K is September 29th! Wish us luck!!! :0)


Found my motivation!

Today I measured, and since I started spark (Jan 25th) I have lost a total of 14.5 inches!! Not to mention the 20lbs that are gone!! So today I got my butt in the gym!! I did 30 minutes of cardio and about 45 minutes of strength training.. I pushed myself and added some new exercises as well as more weight! I had been kinda... maintaining the last few weeks.. but NOT today!!

I weigh in tomorrow and an very excited! I hope I get the results I want! hehe.. :)

    Jen -- I knew there was somebody missing from the 10 Pounds a Month team! I'm glad you had those awesome results and that you're feeling better and are back on track. ..what's happening to me....

So I haven't weighed in about a week... I was sick a few days last week, but it definitely didn't affect my hunger. I think I have gained some weight and am scared to get on that scale. I haven't completed any cardio in forever... Have I hit a plateau?!?!? I sure hope not!!! I DO NOT want to quit, or go back to my old habits! But I can't seem to get motivated... fitness wise anyways. I brought my clothes to go to the gym after work, but we are taking the pups to the vet. So maybe I will get on the treadmill when I get home... maybe not.. I was so PUMPED about my cardio challenges, but I can't get that momentum back. I know to lose all this weight I MUST get off my lazy behind... just eating healthy isn't going to do it. It might maintain the weight I have lost, but I know I have to burn some calories!! I really wanted to lose 10 more lbs by the end of the month... but at this rate I am not going to lose 1!!!

What can I do....... Hopefully I can find that motivation and drive again!

    Thanks Guys!!! I am feeling better today! I got myself to the gym yesterday, even though I was in a hurry! :) I also brought my clothes to go after work today! I want this weight off and stay off. I know some days/weeks/months will be better than others, I just have to push myself through it and don't look back! I did my measurements today and got GREAT results since starting... that was enough to switch me back on! :) I plan on weighing in tomorrow, and no matter was that scale says I will still know that I am doing great and to keep going!
I agree Mike, I think the 5K will help me get back on schedule! :)

    Well, you are not alone. Not only have I been feeling the same way, but I'm hearing alot of the same thing on other teams (and I had not just recovered from a sick spell). I don't know if we should smack ourselves in the face or what.
I hear the conviction in your voice girl. Take a long and deep breath, give yourself a pep talk, and I know for a fact we will get through this.
Please don't beat yourself up over it, that won't help anything. Saturday at Tom Sawyer might be helpful. This awesome weather we've been having should help also, take advantage of it and smell the flowers. I'm in your corner, you'll get through this. Peace Mike O.

Hang in there girl! You are feeling the same exact way that I am feeling. It has been so hard for me to get myself motivated physically, and I keep telling myself that exercise is the way to make the weight come off. Hang in there! I feel your pain and we can do this together.
