Love Week...

Sunday, February 12, 2012

So the lovely ladies of the Wisteria Wolves allowed me to participate in their BE MINE challenge and one of the steps was to blog about my goal, the BLC, my struggles, and triumphs... it kinda got me really thinking about why and I am here. I am a fairly happy and confident person no matter what size I am!
When I first started this journey in 2007 it was all about losing weight for my wedding. Sparkpeople helped me acheive those goals in a healthy way and it was so easy. Then after my wedding I just quite! I stopped logging on, I stopped working out, I stopped eating right.. why? Because I was comfortable and happy?! Such BS... I got lazy! I gained 70lbs in a year! WHAT?? A year!! I was the heaviest I had ever been by almost 35lbs!! I kept that weight on for another year until last summer when I was just over it!! I was tired.. tired of being lazy... tired of being fat... tired of lying around.. just tired.. So I started the c25k and not eating sugar or bread.. I lost 30lbs in just a few months! By August of last year I was back to a tolerable weight! I got to 185lbs and still wanted to lose another 25-30lbs.. but lost motivation and ended up gaining 15lbs back.. so I started the BL17 and got assigned to the Azure Destinations. I was super overwhelmed by a lot of things and had a hard time keeping up.. I started off rocky and ended as a floater.. But then was asked to be in a Seasonal Accountability Challenge with a few girls from Azure (The Triplets) and did much better. So I decided to try BLC18 and they gave me a second chance! I am SOO glad they did because this round has been great! I have really connected with my team and made some great friends!!!

So WHY am I here now.. why do I wanna lose the weight now? I just want to find my balance. I want to be at a healthy weight and maintain that weight.. forever! I want to be happy and healthy and stop going up and down and up and down.. I am over that!!

So my goals for the reamainder of this challenge are:
- Lose 10bs (SW: 196.2lbs)
- Finish painting my kitchen cabinets
- Declutter and organize my closet room
- Drink 64oz of water EVERYDAY!!
- Track everyday

I think those are fairly reasonable! :) I know they probably seem small but I really want to make some habits that stick around. Tracking everyday helps me stay accountable and drinking water always makes me feel better.

I want to end this challenge strong!! :)

I am so glad that you decided to give BLC18 another try! I am honored to be a fellow Azurita! So glad that you are finding balance. That is something I struggle with too. These goals are absolutely doable! Great job, JenBug!! :-)

You can definitely do it Jen!! These are doable goals! I know tracking is a pain, but I really think it's vital to my success. I know that without tracking, I would eat too much junk, too many calories, not enough freggies, and not balance my protein, fat, and carbs. Wishing you success in the coming weeks!

Day 23 of 30 Day Boot Camp

Monday, January 23, 2012

OVER IT!!! LOL! :)

That class is killing me...for real! It is doing some terrible things to by joints! My wrists and knees are hurting? REALLY!? What should I do? I have 7 days left and I missed my last class because my knees were hurting so badly! I have worked so hard in those classes but I just don't know if I can finish. I don't ever remember having this many joint issues before! At the beginning of this I was totally loving it and thought I would add another month, but that is out the window! Running didn't hurt me this bad and I was pounding the asphalt like crazy!!

I have thought about switching from boot camp to a personal trainer... the price will be very similar and I will have more one on one attention... but I just don't know.

I love how much exercise I get accomplished during my boot camp! I feel great when I leave and love the soreness that follows the days after. If my joint hadn't started bothering me last week I wouldn't even be writing this! I would be gearing up for tonights class! But no... I had to go and do too much! Stupid boxes... anyways... I feel lost and it sucks!! :(

Dang.... Sounds like a class you could get your $ worth out of and that you were really sinking your teeth into. This must be kind of like how an Olympian feels (whatever sport) when they get injured. It's like, "But body, come on, I have this goal!" I wish you God speed. I hope your joints heal up fast and I'm sorry for this road bump. Let us know what you decide.

Day 9 of 30 Day Boot Camp

Monday, January 09, 2012

Today is Day 9 of my 30 day boot camp and I feel good!

Yesterday (day 8) was really relaxing and a perfect rest day. My muscles really needed it! :)

I weighed in this morning and I am down 4.6 lbs since Day 1! WOOHOO! My goal is to lose 10lbs by the end of the month!

The things I need to work on the most this week is arriving to class 10 minutes early and stretch, eat less carbs after 5pm, and drink only 2 caffeine drinks per day! Already had 2 today so I gotta go the rest of the day without caffeine... oh how that scares me!!! But I wish try my hardest!!

Week 2 plan:
Monday- 90 min boot camp
Tuesday- 30 min run/walk
Wednesday- 90 min boot camp
Thursday- 30 min walk
Friday- 60 min boot camp
Saturday- Rest (Saturday really isn't much of a rest day as I work on my feet for 8-10 hours!)
Sunday- Rest and Grocery!

Day 4 of Day 30

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Today is Day 4 of my 30 day boot camp! I am super duper sore, but feel great!

Last night (day 3) I did 3 sessions (90 min) instead of just 2 but I had so much adreneline so I stayed and I think it was worth it! :) First session was mostly legs and of course lots of cardio, 2nd session was more upper body and cardio, and 3rd session we played a game of poker. lol. It was definetly different but made the session so fun and it went by really fast! Unfortunately my partner kept grabbing us burpee cards!!! AHHH!! I hate those!! But I know they do a lot of good things at once so I pushed through.. hehe..

My nutrition was really on point yesterday but I think my portion size for dinner was a little big. I wasn't really starved so I am not sure why I made myself so much. I really need to get that under control.

Today is Day 4 and so far so good. Made turkey sausage patties for the rest of the week/weekend so just warm up in the microwave. Ate a great breakfast and already drank 36oz of water and working on my next 16oz as we speak (or as I type). :)

My boot camp is having a nutrition seminar thingy tonight so I think I want to attend that. They are also going to take measurements if you want them done. The DH helped take mine on Monday, but I am going to have the trainer do them just to compare. I am also going to do one session tonight.

Only 26 days left!
