I Wouldn't Believe It If The Garmin Didn't Say It

Julie isn't regularly blogging her thrice-weekly runs. This we know. But I assure you all is going okay (except my pitiful (okay completely lacking)) stretching routine after it is all said and done).

As long as it isn't raining, I have been going outside. I did get lazy for a bit and I was wearing my brace instead of taping. I decided to start taping again. But that means I have to wear running shorts. Today's running temperature: 32. Yikes. Thank heavens for a fleece hat, long sleeve fast dry shirt, and freebie gloves from the Turkey Trot! My legs were c-c-c-c-cold!

I was up to 20 minutes today. I do not really peek at the Garmin when I run, except to spot my time. Plugged the Garmin in when I got back, and my AP was 9:56. Get.out.of.here! I sure do have to spit a lot when I run. Not sure what that is about? But it must be done.

I felt like bathing in chicken noodle soup when I got home. Holy cow! emoticon

    I do so admire you runners. I have never taken it up but that does not mean I don't to one day. So when I see stories like this is just inspires me to keep on trudging on and one day I to will be a runner girl.

The Spark Team That Sealed My Spark Success

I am sure we all have Spark Friends. But we likely have a core group/team that sucked us in and motivated us along the way, no? For me, the most influential team has been the Biggest Loser Challenge (BLC). I started in round 9, and we are now (gasp) opening signups for round 18!!!

Why is the Biggest Loser Challenge so special?

    I am looking foward to round 18, cant wait! Round 17 was the first team I stayed committed to since being on SP since 2009. I hope to reach 1/3 of my goal next round..

    I was in the BLC for the first time this past round, as a Forest Green Pixie. It was an outstanding experience for the reasons you note. I lost about 10 lbs., and I know I could have done better. I am so looking forward to the next round!!!

Thankful Blog

Well...I sure know how to skip days of blogging ;)

All is okay. I still have tailbone discomfort, but I could only sit out for so long. I could not just 'do nothing'. No way. No how!

And that is why I am thankful. For the way I think. For what I do. Sure I will eat something but I don't say 'shame on you!'. I say 'so what are you going to do to burn that off?' 'What choices will you make for the rest of today...or tomorrow...because of the choice you just made?' It's about balance. We have to find it in our own time, and in our own way.

My body did not like Thanksgiving. At all. Okay...maybe the green beans. Everything else...it hated. I think it has finally recovered from the debauchery ;)

Running is coming along. This week is 18 minutes per run, then a regimen of PT. I am finding that I need to take a breather between running and the PT (ST really). Even 10 minutes. Just to recover and do well on the ST portion.

I was really pleased with how the Garmin displayed my pacing. I am finding that often now and it shows that my conditioning and pacing is where I can be consistent. I am not all over the map, so to speak...going out too fast and then clamoring to recover. It was a little warm out there today for late November, but breezy. Good overall!

Week 4, Day 1

Well, today was a struggle. I fell while descending stairs on Saturday evening. Had a plate of food and drink for my oldest. Landed right on my tailbone. This slowed today's pace by nearly 2 minutes. emoticon And it did hurt while I ran, but not as bad as it could have...thanks to Ibuprofen. emoticon

At least I got out there. I didn't do anything yesterday except eat right. Off to see how I handle the PT portion of today.
