Dragging my motivation back

Thursday, April 09, 2009

That cruise was a great motivation (and a whole heck of a lot of fun too!) However, I came back and expected to eat warm chocolate melting cake every day after that!LOL emoticon Anyway, I was home for a week and then my family came. I have been out of control lately, but I think I am finally back. My goal this week is to find a goal that will help me get motivated again to eat well. My goal to run my first 5k after 15 years has kept me running and teaching has kept me at aerobics, but nothing has been there to keep me from eating...well, you get the picture. My husband reminded me that I do much better when I food journal. So I started again today. Anybody have any ideas for me? I know...another cruise emoticonLOL. Better be racking up more frequent flier miles if I'm going to be doing that anytime soon.

Since you can't reward yourself with a monthly cruise maybe a monthly massage will do the trick. hehehe Sign up for a race. I find signing up really helps me. If I want to run at my best I can't be eating cookies all day long. I also just wrote a blog on 100 days of running. I am pretty proud of myself, you might like to read it...feel free - you might find it motivating. I have been keeping track of my food intake for 19 days. I find challenging myself and seeing how many days in a row I can do things is really motivating. Not every can (or should for that matter) run every day...but you can start some kind of a streak. Good luck to you and welcome to the road runners. gail

Hi, its ok to celebrate once in a while. Follow the 80:20 rule . As long as you eat healthy 80% of the time, it balances out.

As for exercising, I'll go for the 30 minutes per day routine like brisk walking as it is sustainable . I should know because in my younger days I did 7 marathons in 3 years and suffered sports injury. Its a little bit like the turtle and the hare... the turtle wins over the longer run.

Cheers

Bootcamp Challenge

Thursday, January 22, 2009

This has been an interesting journey. My motivation has been yo-yo-ing constantly as I seek to lose the last of my baby fat. The one thing that has helped tremendously to atleast maintain is this bootcamp challenge. It has helped me to extend myself and do just a little more. I felt that I always exercised and never worried about that portion. It has been great for me to have something pushing me to do a little extra...to step up and rise a little higher. My food is still a struggle, but I am working on it. Discouragement comes when I do mess up or when I get on the scale and I'm not as far as I wanted to be. However, I did measure my circumferences the other day and lost way more in the inch department than I have left to lose! That was exciting! I am within about 1 1/2 inches from before baby number 3!

Bootcamp Challenge

Just like thousands out there, I am really excited for this bootcamp. It's timing is perfect as we make resolutions and are revved up to change our lives in some way. I have commited to lose the rest of the 20 lbs I have before I go on this cruise with my sweetheart. We also are discussing possibly having another little one and I want to make sure that I start a new pregnancy out right. Already I am looking in the mirror with more confidence. I am hoping that with this new bootcamp I will finish what I started and be in the best shape I have in a long time. I would like to be able to look in the mirror with full confidence and not be turned off and disappointed with what I see.

old stuff--just didn't want to lose it.

Hi! I'm Deborah! I've been with spark people off and on for about 5 months now! I learn more and more what an amazing sight this is. I love the food and fitness tracker. I started out trying to lose baby weight and I have now lost quite a bit of it. I have 20 lbs to go to hit my goal weight! I started with some pretty lofty goals (see the side panel that I need to change), but they lifted me to accomplish as much as I have. I love that I am starting to feel like the old me again. I'm feeling more confident all the time. When I lose that last 20 I will be close to the weight I was at the skinniest I've been since high school, but a lot healthier than then! I now believe it to be possible. Thank you Spark People and all of you who have allowed me to see your progress and helped me know that it is possible!

10/22 On again! I lost another pound. It seems like I fight each and every one of them! My motivation is high and I can see then end in sight. I am not concerned about the holidays. I know that they provide temptation, but I have confidence in myself and my choices. This last week I have been consistent in my eating and I am seeing results of my hard work.

Cruise motivation

Friday, January 02, 2009

My Christmas gift this year from my wonderful sweetheart is a trip on a cruise. Last time he surprised me with a trip to Mexico I lost all my goal weight and a little extra. I'm hoping to lose 20 lbs. So that is about 2 lbs a week. I'm hoping that this will be my extra little bit of motivation I need to get those last stubborn pounds.
