I am so happy with my progress. I know it sounds cliche but today I wore my skinny jeans for the first time in years. I still have 3 months to tone up for swimsuit season. I am shopping my closet instead of spending money on new clothes. So exciting when I fit into some of my favorites that I hardly wore because I never stayed at that weight for very long.

Still Going Strong

I can hardly believe I have kept up with tracking my food intake since Jan. 1. I have never had such a streak since joining Spark in 2009.

I have lost about 5-6 pounds, and inch and a quarter off of my hips and now I can fit into all of my clothes in my closet. I do need to lose the last 5-6 and tone up to wear some of those clothes comfortably.

As is my tendency I did overdo exercise and now have a muscle strain in my quadriceps. It is minor but I am going to baby it until I can exercise comfortably. I do not want a situation that takes months to recover from. From what I read on-line a week to 10 days of rest should take care of it. I am not stressing over it. I am keeping my calories even lower because of not exercising that much. I'd rather be sidelined in February when the weather is yuck then in the spring or summer. So onward I go. I know I will reach all my goals this year.

My clothes are fitting so much better. In Pic one you can see how my top is stretched across my stomach to fit. In Pic two you can actually see a fold in the shirt, much more relaxed fitting and my side bulge is gone.

MOTIVATIONAL COLLAGE

Spent time this morning creating my collage. I got the images from Pinterest. (Hopefully no copyright problems).

Spending time on Spark People and doing exercises like these keeps my goals in sight. Today I didn't feel like exercising. It was a little cold out and I woke up earlier than normal and was yawning a lot. But, I got motivated thinking about the new songs I put on my iPod and the fact that my dog needed to get out. I ended up running twice my normal 2.75 mile distance. Some times, once you get going, you get in your groove and it just feels good!

How I handled Longhorns last night

My son was accepted into Advanced Academy (an early entrance to college) yesterday so we went to Longhorns to celebrate. Initially my thought was yikes there's usually a lot of calories involved in going out to eat. So I went straight to the Tracker and put in a 7 ounce salmon, a plain baked potato, and as a treat a 20 ounce Sam Adams.

I did not have bread, I asked for broccoli with no butter for my side. I had a garden salad with vinaigrette instead of cesear salad. So I was pleasantly full but not stuffed and did not go over my calorie limits. Woohoo!
