Great Start Crappy End

So I had a great start to my day today, got up at 4:45 a.m. got my Jillian on did pretty good today actually even managed to drink a glass of water before my morning coffee.

What about breakfast you say no problem had my cup of coffee (w/ soy milk no sugar) and then my smoothie (managed 2 servings of fruit there) and all before I even left home and got to work early.

And from the there the day went to complete crap, not in any one major way but in a series of minor inconveniences that sucked the joy, energy and focus out of my day.

The air conditioning went down (and did I mention I live in the Caribbean so this was critical), my boss was late, everyone decided this was the morning to see him and nobody seemed to understand that a closed door and no light meant he wasn't there. I swear sometimes I regret that my parent taught me manners *sigh*. From there the rest of the day just swirled down the drain I couldn't seem to focus on anything, kept making the simplest of mistakes and didn't manage to complete a single thing on my do list today (not ONE!).

I felt so harried and bothered and out of focus, that I gave up and went out with co workers for two beers after work. Thinking about it now I'm pretty sure the calories were a bad idea but the relaxation gained in that time did restore some of my equilibrium.

Right now the worst part is that it's 11 pm and I only just finished my last two glasses of water to make up my eight for the day so here I go, off to bed with that annoying bloated feeling to cap off the day that was a great start but crappy ending.

I think it wouldn't have felt so bothersome if I hadn't managed to get such a good start, I think that's what pisses me off about today the great start that had me so proud of myself. Well hope tomorrow is better.

    Sometimes bad days happen. Just remember, it's not what you do that day, but what you do after it that is important.

We are human. We have to take care of primal needs sometimes (and yes, sometimes that beer is a primal need). But remember tomorrow is a new day. When you wake up, you get to start over and pick a direction.

Tomorrow when you wake up, ask yourself. Do you pick the sugary creamy bad coffee and bad food? Or do you go right back to your water and sugar-free coffee.

The decision is in your hands. Keep positive!

8 glasses a day

OK so it's 10:10 p.m. and I've just managed to complete my 8 glasses for today and I have to say it was a real challenge for me today. I actually feel really full and a bit bloated right and I hope it passes. I'm a bit sleepy so in honor of my new attempt at a healthier life I'm going to bed and hope I can manage to stay asleep for at least the minimum 6 hours. Wish me luck if I can manage that I may be able to get up early enough to give Jillian a go in the morning.

  It actually works out for me because by the time I have to get up to go to the bathroom it's about 4:30 a.m. which is when I try to start waking up to do my workout. Which I am proud to say I did this morning. YAY!!!!! and managed to last a bit longer than I normally do but I will try to get my water in earlier in the day at least just to avoid that bloated feeling before bed. emoticon emoticon

    I'm with you on this one. It's 11:24 and I'm still trying to finish off the last few swallows of the 8th glass. I got sidetacked and just didn't "get 'er done" today. Maybe you and I need to wear our pedometers to bed tonight!

    Oh yeah, you'll get your exercise tonight hopping out of bed for the bathroom. Not to worry, your body will adjust in a few days and it will really appreciate the hydration. But yeah, in the future you might want to finish your water intake a little earlier.

  Good luck on getting your six hours of sleep, but you might want to get your eight glasses of water in earlier tomorrow. I found that out the hard way, I kept having to get up and go to the bathroom when I dranked my water late in the evening. I now get my water in early, so I don't have to get up all during the night.
