Is it to late?

I am 50 years old, a mother of adult children, and a wife for over 30 years. When I was young in a house with 9 other kids, you ate what you got. meals were not about healthy or nutrition, they were about what was on your plate. Sometimes I saw my mother not eat because she though there wasn't enough food to go around. So you just ate. When I married and had my first child I become my mother, making sure that everyone ate first. with a tight budget most times again not enough food. The right kinds of food, is one thing I knew nothing about. The kids grew healthy and strong, thank god and I don't know they did. I become diabetic about 17 years ago with it came heart disease, high bp and a lot of other bad health problems. that made alot of stays in the hospital. Last week I was told that I'm going blind. Is change to late?

    NO it is not too late. There are several SP members in their 50's and 60's who have lost weight and lots of it. I am sure that you too will lose the weight. Sure it sounds like you need a little information on the subject but the SP articles and blogs will get you up to speed.

    First of all it is never to late!
My household was the same way. My mom loved to make us meals. meat, potaoes, bread, dessert. We cleaned out plates. We usually had seconds while mom and dad would pass if there was't much left. When I got married I started cooking for my husband like my mom cooked for us. I wanted to be a good wife. My kids now expect dessert and it has been a challenge teaching them it is necessary every night. But change is happening slowly.
It will be hard, but you can do it.

Just trying to stop

One day I said I am just tiring to stop eating everything i can get my hands on. Just tiring to stop sitting in the chair in front of the TV one more minute. Just trying to stop drinking a glass of pepsi, one after another. Just tiring to stop finding the closest parking space to the door. Just trying to stop going to the closet and picking out the large outfit. Just trying to stop felling bad about myself. Just trying to stop the felling of out of control. Just trying to stop felling like I cant do it.
One day is Today. If not then Tomorrow. I am just trying to stop not trying.
