It has been a while and it shows on the scale. I am now heavier than I have ever been in my life, even while pregnant. In the past 2 years I have gained 30 pounds and my boyfriend has gained 40. We are slowly killing ourselves! I know what it is, we eat horribly on the weekends. If it is creamy and full of fat, we eat it, and we eat it late at night.

We are both now doing a "biggest loser" thing at work. I lost 2 pounds the first week but gained them back the second week. Hopefully this week I will see a loss. I have got to get back t exercising so that I can see the results.

Super bummed...that new Kindle app I wrote about yesterday? Well aparently it crashed because I couldn't get it to load this morning!! emoticon

Well, I didn't let that get me down...exercised anyway for 10 minutes!!

Hopefully tonight I can figure out what the problem is so that I can use the app tomorrow. Now I hope the Yoga app works when I get home (same developers).

Hope everyone has a great sparkday!!

Well that was ugly...but eye-opening

Sunday, February 24, 2013

So, I went to the Doctor for a check-up from my November high-blood-pressure issue. While my BP is under control on the fluid pill, my weight certainly wasn't. I have been avoiding the scale for a reason, and it was right there staring at me. It was ugly...I have gained 20 pounds in a year. I am not at my heaviest, but I am damn close. Too close.

So, here I am again relying on Spark People to get this weight off. Today I downloaded 2 new apps to my Kindle. One for Yoga and another for Daily Workouts. What I like about the workout app is that I can determine the length of the workout and what body part I want to work out. There is even a neat little timer that counts down how much time is left on each part. I like technology so hopefully this will be beneficial. Tomorrow morning I will start with a 10 minute workout, then do 20 minutes of Yoga when I get home from work.

I have my breakfasts and lunches prepared for the week, so I just need to make my salads every morning for my lunch. Snacks will be veggie sticks and carrots. I know this will work, and I want to stick to it because bathing suit season is just around the corner, lol.

Don't forget to track! It's a great way to remember what you have eaten, AND you can see the days go by as you turn the pages.

Realized that I have been on SparkPeople (off and on) for 3 years!! Can't believe it has been that long, but I keep coming back to what I know. Recently tried the Visalus thing, and didn't even make it a month...I can't live on a liquid diet no matter how much I try.

WOW...long time no see...

Thursday, June 28, 2012

WOW, I didn't realize until just now how long it has been since I posted a blog. What brought me here today is that my better half has just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and I wanted to get some diet and exercise tips that I can pass along (and follow myself). In addition to the HBP, he also has high cholesterol that we have 3 months to get under control before they put him on medication. Neither one of us wants more medicines in the cabinet, so we are going to try it the old-fashioned way.

I want him around for many years to come (I would like to get married one day), so it will be mostly up to me to make sure he sticks to the diet and exercise. And I am OK with that.

If you are reading this and have any words of wisdom, please share!! I am like a sponge right now and trying to soak in as much information as possible. emoticon
