The really important one is today, so Merry Celebrations to you all on His behalf. I hope it is as joyous a day for you as it is for me.
Yesterday was a quiet celebration of my 68th year on this earth, because the ice storm made the roads a bit treacherous for travel. But that was OK--I thought I'd have a quiet day of reflection, but my family and friends had the phone ringing all day.
I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with all my favorite dishes--huge prawns bathed in garlic butter, baked potato with butter and sour cream--they were small so I had two, green beans and white wine! Ta da! So good! Even though I can see the Spark dieticians shaking their heads. I'll be good again...tomorrow.
Then I thought of some things I still needed to get done before Christmas, and decided, "Nope, not on my birthday!"
It's so nice to reach the age of "I'll do it if I want to, and if I don't, well...."
It's wonderful to be in such good health that I actually forget how old I am, and have a tendency to refer to others my age as "the elderly," not considering myself a member of their group.
I'm just truly thankful for life, in all its colors and textures. I'll take it all...all that I can get.
