I know I said I'd be back home on Thursday. That was the plan, but United Airlines decided otherwise. I'm counting my blessings that I happened to be still awake at 1:00 a.m. when they emailed me that my flight from D.C. to Cleveland (Cleveland!!!) would be delayed 2 hours (thereby causing me to miss my connecting flight to Michigan). So I managed to get rescheduled to a Friday departure....but so did everyone else, and the airport was a mass of long lines.

But I'm home. Sigh..... And I still love traveling...usually.....

Now let's kick some serious booty with our exercise!

The push-up test

Ha,ha! I was looking at the men's test and trying to do 29 so that I could be "excellent" for my age group. When I couldn't get past 21 without wobbling, I said, "Oh well, I'll keep working on it."

Then I noticed 21 modified push-ups for women is still excellent! So...I'll still keep working toward the 29. emoticon

    GREAT job on the push ups..the bane of my existence...however my fingers are fiercely strong... emoticonprobably from the daily sparking workout on the keyboard staying in touch with all my darling friends..and you my dear....are such a sweet one! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I did those tests a few weeks ago ... sit ups, push ups, the mile walk, and I forget the last one. I hit the good or excellent rating in each one of them ... if I was in my 20s and 30s. :-) Had to brag. LOL

Walk-jogging

The up-side of doing the weight-loss routine so many times is that you finally realize what works for you. So when you get serious about it, you know what to do.

I eat rather healthfully most of the time, but tracking to make sure I'm not overeating (I enjoy most foods a bit too much) takes me a little ways toward weight loss. What really ramps it up for me is adding intervals of jogging to my walks. I began a program of this last week and already the lbs are dropping.

    Woo Hoo! I have a spark friend who calls it Wogging. Walking with jogging intervals. It has made a huge difference for her.

    I have been doing the same thing! At my age (nearly 47), it's a privilege to still have the knees for jogging. It really can shake up the exercise routine. I'm flirting with the idea of doing a couch to 5K program.
