All day today I have not been able to bring up my favorites or groupings in the Food Tracker. It just sits there trying to bring it up and never does. I also couldn't post a comment to a friend's status on his page (although I was able to write comments at the bottom), but I could comment on his status in my Friend Feed. Strange.
Hope I don't have a virus. I ran a scan, but no problems came up.
Did anyone else notice anything strange today on the site, or is yours working normally?

From Dr. Weil's daily tips:
We all know the "secret" of successful weight loss: Eat less and exercise more. It's not always easy, but by adopting healthy eating habits and a regular exercise routine, you are sure to lose weight without depriving yourself of nourishing, satisfying food. And if you continue those good habits after you reach your goal, you will have an excellent chance of maintaining your desired weight. Here are some tips for successful weight loss:
Avoid artificial sweeteners and synthetic fat substitutes. They are unhealthy and don't help you develop good eating habits.
Dietary supplements or "fat-burning herbs" are usually just stimulants - don't rely on them. The pounds will surely return once you've stopped taking them.
Build lean body mass. Strength training burns excess calories and influences the way your brain regulates hunger, making you less susceptible to food cravings. Try lifting weights that are slightly heavier than you are used to for a rep or two, to challenge your muscles.
Kick up your heels. Dancing is another great way to expend calories - an hour of fast-paced dancing can burn 400-500 calories, plus it's fun!
Pay attention to the mental and spiritual aspects of weight control. Use relaxation exercises, instead of food, to combat anxiety.
Avoid late-night eating. The snack foods we consume when sitting in front of the television or to curb a craving tend to be heavy on processed carbs and inflammatory fats. Plan your dinner at a time that does not leave you hungry before bed, and if you must snack, opt for a piece of fruit or a handful of almonds.
As you lose the weight, don't become too impatient to reach your goal. You may be dissatisfied with your body, but it is beautiful just the same.

is craving more sugar. During my weekend away, I indulged and indulged in glazed doughnuts. I tracked them, but no matter. Every night now, I am craving something sweet. Last night I ate cookies and ice cream that had been the freezer since last year. I'm hooked again. I had vowed not to give in.....So much for vows.
I had fruit earlier, thinking that would forestall the cravings later. Didn't work.
What now? Just cold turkey sweat-out in the fetal position?

Well, I'm back from my 4-day trip to a nearby city where some close friends, bless their hearts, invited me to come to spend some time with them--and go out with one of their friends. Translation: they set me up on a blind date. I was excited to spend time with them, luke-warm about the blind date.
All my reservations proved unfounded. I'd learned we have quite a few common interests when I'd talked with him by phone a couple of times in advance of the trip, but when I met him, he was even more pleasant and interesting than he'd seemed on the phone. And not bad looking either....
We went to dinner--great meal--yes, I broke ALL the rules. But hey, what could I do; it was a fancy place; I wasn't going to waste his money. The following evening the 4 of us went to a movie and to a club afterward for drinks and a little dancing.
I had fun and made a new friend.

Each time I read yet another article or see another person on Dr. Oz tell us about the high probability of allergic reactions to cow's milk, I try another brand of soy milk--and can't quite adjust to the taste, even though I only have it in cereal and coffee.
So today I was in the dairy section about to try the vanilla almond milk my daughter (a milk hater) gave her OK to, when I saw a lady reaching for the store brand organic soy milk (Meijer). I told her about my never having found a good one, and she said she'd had the same eperience until she'd tried this one. I was skeptical, but she was positive, so I bought it. She was right. It tastes fine. It's a keeper.
So if you've been like me--so sure the best tasting ones (of anything) would be the brand name one, think again. And save some money besides. Thankfully this store is stocking more and more organic products under its brand. It's a midwest store, but I'll bet your area stores are doing the same.
Save your money, and save your kidneys from having to clean out all that toxicity--they have enough to do, poor things.
