Busy busy. Too much time sparking

Saturday, July 02, 2011

I realized last week that I'm spending too much time on this website. I was really getting wrapped up in accumulating spark points! This week I had a lot going on getting our boys ready to go off to a church retreat in Pennsylvania so I didn't follow through on my team challenges and goals. I have decided to focus on tracking my weight and fitness and 3 team challenges. I also want to spend my time encouraging spark friends and spark team members. My month started with no fitness activity (we were in our car driving from 5:00 am until 8:00 pm) but my fitness goals will stay the same and I'll be sure to make up for yesterdays inactivity. Good luck to everyone this July!

So many sparkpeeps say this- are you neglecting other areas of your life- like fitness. for example?
I'm here a lot- maybe 2 hours a day in 20-30 min snatches- but I work out every day- clean my house - work part time- -shop for and cook healthy meals- rarely watch tv.
See what I mean?
Priorities!
Spark on!

I have the same issue - I usually spend between 30-60 minutes every day. I felt better about it when one of my friends said "that's your farmville though". It's so true!!! I don't play any internet games, so the time I spend her is time I would probably spend on games that others play. This way I'm not just wasting time, I'm also increasing my healthy knowledge!

I like how you refocused and created goals for the website to make it valuable to you!

We still have cake!!!!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Well, it's been two days since the big birthday party and we still have cake in our refrigerater. My brother-in-law bought a cake that serves 80 people when we only had 43 guests! The leftovers are still beckoning but I've resisted the temptation for two days!!!! I know it will be calling my name tomorrow too but I will not give in emoticon

You have to choose which waist/waste you want it to go to.....

Make it "GO AWAY"....it holds no good things for you...it has served it's purpose...I, too, hate to waste things...

BUT TOSS IT OUT!!!! Even I won't take things out of the trash and eat them...

It is a temptation you DO NOT NEED!!!!!

    You can do it!

Can the cake accidently flip over onto the floor?

Keep up the good work!

I agree with the flush it sentiment - or give it to the neighbors. For my birthday at work they bought a cake to feed at least 30 -- and I was sent packing with that one too. I had to at least get it into my car so as not to insult them (I did a great fake out job of making them think I ate my piece when in fact I didn't - this was when I first started SP and I didn't feel I could risk even a bite).

But, seriously, you said it - enough cake already. It has to go...don't you think?

The party is over - you said it yourself...

Bikinis, beach towels and sunglasses don't go together with cake!!

The party's over

Sunday, June 19, 2011

Well my mother-in-law's 90th birthday party was a big success. Everyone had a great time; especially my mother-in-law who was upset about having the party! Now I must get back on track and stop eating birthday cake on a regular basis. It all started Tuesday when we celebrated my husband's birthday. How could I not have a piece of his favorite lemon cake? Of course we didn't finish it in one day so it lingered on the kitchen counter and I couldn't resist another piece the following day. Then on to my mother-in-law's actual birthday on Friday. How could I not have a piece of MY favorite Zuppa Inglese cake which of course didn't get finished so I had a bit more on Saturday. Then there was today's celebration with her favorite from LaSalle bakery. Wouldn't it be rude of my not to have some? Well guess where the remainder of the LaSalle cake is sitting? In my refrigerator! I refuse to have another bite of cake until our next celebration (my brother-in-law celebrates in August). That is my goal until then! I'm curious to see what the scale says tomorrow morning. I have been faithfully exercising so I'm really hoping the damage isn't too bad. Wish me luck. I know I can do it!

You sound too much like me - lol! Yesterday I shared a piece of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake with my dear husband (subject of the Father's Day celebration that got us to the place) but then the kids didn't finish their chocolate chip cookie dough piece so a snagged a bit of that too - on top of indulging in the bread (with butter - which I haven't done in months!) and the bang bang chicken and shrimp - which must be 2000 calories (I ate half).

This morning the scale came in at 133.6 -- the same number I've been looking at for over 2 weeks. How weird is that??

I'd say I've stabilized, huh? And you have probably too...I guess we can indulge once in a while. But, yeah, daily cake is probably not recommended. We've worked to hard to reverse the results!!

Good to know we can apparently eat like 'normal' people without getting neurotic. That's progress, I think!!
