Starting Over (Oh no,,,not again!)

Here I go again. Unfortunately my weight has sneaked up on me again. Time to take control again and become responsible for myself. I will no make excuses for not exercising. If I do have to miss a day than I will exercise on one of my rest days. I will use my pedometer everyday and make sure that I get at least 10,000 steps each day.

My diet...well I promise to use my food tracker. I will write in my food journal at work and use my tracker at night. I have got to be accountable for everything that I eat and drink.

Tomorrow morning I will weigh myself and take my measurements, first thing in the morning, and post them in my blog.

    Good for you! I have fallen off the wagon due to some health issues and am struggling to get back on the spark wagon, so I feel your pain. And I agree, the food journal is the hardest!

    One step at a time, frustrating how that scale just sneaks up on us some time...
And even 20 minutes a day will get you going, take the stairs park a little farther away.
As far as the food tracker, when you go to add a food look for food groupings. If you eat a lot of the same stuff you can enter it all at once, give it a name and just use that for your food choice. It might take a few minutes in the beginning but in the long run it goes quicker.

Update and Back on Track

I had been trying to run more and enter in some local 5K races. Before my second 5k on July 4th my right knee had become swollen. It turned out that I have a Bakers Cyst, extremely bad arthritis and a meniscus tear which is feeding the cyst. My orthopedist told me there isn't much I can do for it, just wait til the pain is bad enough and then have knee replacement surgery! I can exercise, he just said not to do much high impact stuff.

I'm now walking more (about 3-5 miles a day). I'm also alternating Jillian Michaels workouts every day. I do try to take 2 days off from the dvd's.

My son, Pete, called today from Iraq emoticon. He's doing well and trying to stay safe. He said the temp in the desert was 120 today!! I couldn't imagine that kind of heat.

It's late so I'll end here.

    My son sent me a picture of a digital thermometer from Iraq. It registered 120, but had the humdity at 20%. My son said it was hot there, but the heat here is unbearable, so he did ok..... Sending up prayers for yours and all over there!

Thanks for all the encouragement!! Ate well, except I didn't get enough calories! Did my 30 Day Shred DVD, SSB video this morning and the QuickFire Challenge!
I'm sort of leary of adding carbs to my breakfast or lunch because then I have a tendency to over do them. I will try to get in more calories tomorrow.
I have a treadmill test at my MD's in the morning. No reason, just to get an idea of how much I can raise my heart rate.

Didn't sleep well last night. Ate all the wrong foods. Didn't do my QuickFire challenge. I did do my Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Bootcamp challenge. I was hardly on Sparkpeople today. Just a bad day. Tomorrow is Another Day. I WIll be better! (for me, not anyone else!)

Pete's leaving for Iraq tonight...

This is Pete, my son, who is a Sgt. in the Army. He's leaving for Iraq tonight and it's breaking my heart. He'll be gone for one year, so far..the Army has a tendency to keep them longer. All I can do is put him in God's hands and keep him in prayer.
Exercise will help keep me in balance. Prayer will keep me from feeling lost.

    I understand how mom is feeling, I sent my son (AR Army National Guard) to Iraq in Jan of last year and welcomed him home in December. He is considering volunteering to go to Afghanistan for 11 months very soon. I am torn between proud and well, motherly. We appriciate your son, his sacrifice as well as your families sacrifice-HOOAH!!

    My heart goes out to you dear MOM. I know this is very difficult for you. My son is currently in Iraq and I can just remember the day that he left. He took apiece of my heart with him.

Stay strong and trust that God will protect him and keep him safe. I will add Pete to my prayer list.
