Getting Strong!

Monday, March 11, 2013

I love lifting weights! Who would have thought it? My gym manager is even encouraging ME to become an instructor! emoticon
Here I am at 58 years young and possibly becoming a Body Pump instructor. Amazing!
Sometimes I think I might work out longer than I should, however it is usually only on Saturdays. I normally get about 30 minutes of cardio and about 15-20 minutes of resistance training 4 days a week. I love it! Though somedays are hard to get motivated, I almost never give in and is it ever worth it!

That's fantastic! We are roughly the same age and I need to start strength training myself. You are my inspiration!!

Wednesday I had minor outpatient surgery on my right wrist. I had a ganglion cyst removed from under an artery. No I'm just bruised and a bit sore. Of course no lifting for a few weeks and I probably shouldn't do Spinning either.
I will do other aerobics, such as Zumba or work out on the elliptical machine. I will find a way!! I suppose I can also add Pilates as long as I don't use my wrist.

Oh my, don't know how I missed this. Hope you had a "comfortable" week-end.

Don't push it, for some reason a wrist ganglion doesn't like it when you do. (Ask my son, he found out the hard way, painful and longer recovery)

Boy did I have a rough week! Tuesday was highly emotional, bringing to mind the first 40 years of my life...The good, the bad and the ugly!. I also wasn't able to get to my spin class as often as I needed to. This coming week I will be in NJ visiting with my sister and two brothers. I can't wait!! But, again, I probably won't be able to fit in much fitness.

Blessings! and Happy Thanksgiving!! emoticon

Enjoy NJ - always fun to visit (don't wear yourself out about last Tuesday).

Happy Thanksgiving!

I felt good after my doctor visit...Blood Pressure is down, cholesterol is down, and my weight is down!! emoticon

Went and worked out after the doctor visit. Spinning and weights. I feel great!! I haven't been watching my diet as closely as I should, tracking seems so inconvenient but I know it's the only way I will be able to cut back or add where I need to.

Hope you all have a great evening and a terrific day tomorrow! emoticon

WTG on all your good news! Pat yourself on the back - you deserve it!

I love the nutrition tracker. Probably one of my favorite things on SP.

I've been working very hard at my local YMCA. Through the company I work for I was able to do a 3 month program for free. I went every chance that I could, about 4-5 days a week. The BEST new thing I'm doing is Spinning!! My knee (arthritis, meniscus tear and Bakers cyst) is feeling so much better.

I go see my primary care Doc tomorrow. My cholesterol has dropped and I know that my blood pressure has gone down. I can't wait to see what he says!

Staying committed to working out has been hard, fun, exhausting but worth all the effort!

It's late and I must get to bed.

That is awesome, keep it up. Amazing how far you can go when your knee doesn't yell back at ya... emoticon
