My new Tattoo!!

Friday, November 05, 2010

This is my new Tattoo for 25 pounds lost. I am going to get one for each 25 pounds I lose. They will most likely be different ones each time. But I'm excited. I really only have 20 pounds more to go to get my next one.

It is only the butterfly that I got. I already had the other one.

I've got a nice back piece in mind for when I reach my ultimate goal.
In the meantime, perhaps next month I'd like to get a swallow tattoo on my collar for getting under 200lbs.

Elliptical...

Friday, October 15, 2010

So as some of you know my Elliptical broke on me about 2.5 weeks ago. I've missed using the Elliptical since then, in fact I've even gone to the gym to use the Elliptical a couple times. The part being ordered was 41.00. It was on back order from the vendor... which means that it might take forever to get the part, since they say 2 weeks from them to me and adding the vendor into the bunch was adding even more time. =( So I was fearful that I would not have my elliptical fixed by the time it got cold out and I could no longer ride the bike without turning into a Popsicle.

Well today... I got sick of waiting. I e-mailed the company to ask how long it was going to take. I got a generic e-mail back stating what I already knew. So I went over to craigslist and looked up Elliptical for sale in my area. There was one that was in the next city over from mine listed for 60.00. The picture of it looked like it was a nicer one than mine. So I called up the lady and said that I would be interested. She is like 'how much did I have it listed for?' I was like '60.00', and she said 'Well, I will take 50.00 for it'... I had to contain my excitement...lol Because I would have paid the full 60.00 for it... So I went over and bought it and brought it home, it is a compact one that is usually between 200-300 online so it was easy to carry into the house. It has a weighted wheel that you can adjust the pressure (think that is the right term for it) of the wheel. It doesn't have any fancy computer or anything, it is just a basic Elliptical. It works amazingly well, and I love it!!!! (looks like it was barely used too) I still plan on fixing my old Elliptical, that way I will have two in case something happens to one of them.

I'm so so so so excited to get a full work out done on it! I've missed my elliptical so much, and I'm just so happy that I have a new one. emoticon

Bike Riding

Monday, October 11, 2010

So today I did what I would have laughed about last year. I rode my bike over to my kids school which is 3.3 miles away to pick them up from school. They have told me a couple times that they wish that we could ride bikes home from school. I have told them that it is to far in the past.

After riding my bike with my DH for the last few weeks. I have realized that 3.3 miles is really not all that far, it just looks far. So I woke my DH up early for his midnights shift and asked him to drive his car over to the school with the kids bikes and our 3 year old. I got to the school in 20 minutes (takes me about 15 mins in the car). The ride was very fun to do on my own. Then my girls (6 and 7 year olds) got out of school and I asked if they wanted to ride their bikes home with me. They were so excited and jumped up and down saying 'Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!'. So off we went on our bikes. Myself and DH had planned ahead for him to come get them if they couldn't make it all the way home. But they made it, without any kind of complaints and want to do it again tomorrow!!! It only took us 35 minutes to get home. So they were riding at least 5 miles an hour all the way home. I was so proud of them, and myself for riding our bikes.

It may seem like a little for a lot of people on here. But last year I would have laughed the idea off. I wouldn't have even considered doing something like this, let alone getting the idea all on my own. So today was an awesome day!

Yeah, my girls seem to be most effected by my new healthy habits. They constantly ask me if what they are eating/doing is healthy for them. It is so cute and makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing for them as well as for me. It is something that I don't think I was aware of while I was a child, and I'm glad that they are learning it now.

I think that is totally cool, you are like mom of the year material to your kids right now. I am so proud of you...not just for doing it, but for being able to see the progress you've made from last year to this one. Keep up the great work!

That is awesome! I don't think it is a little thing. My husband bought me a bike three years ago and I rode it once (long story involving a crash and a drama queen). It is great that you are teaching your children healthy habits, having fun, and getting quality time with them. Those memories will be with them the rest of their lives.

New month, new day!

Friday, October 01, 2010

Yesterday my elliptical's pedal axel broke in half on me. (While I was on it working out...) Which basically had me an emotional wreck. Because, to me the elliptical was my ONLY way of really losing weight. So I was feeling like I was going to fail. But today was a new day and I picked myself up and dusted myself off and figured out what else I could do instead. So I dusted off my Wii Fit Board and pulled out my Wii fit Plus game and did an hour on there. Then I went out and bought a bigger seat for the bike (so my behind doesn't hurt as much while riding). Then went on a 3 mile bike ride with my DH. It was amazing to be riding and not in pain because of the seat...lol I think I've found another favorite activity. (Although when the snow comes I won't be able to do it any more... until spring, but hopefully my elliptical will be fixed long before that.)

Now I'm going to be doing my ST for the day. Then I will be off to a blissful sleep and ready to work tomorrow. =)

So the moral of this story? Failure is not an option this time around! It might take me a little longer to get to where I want to but I will get there! =)

If I can do this, then YOU can too!!!!

Way to go! You know, my elliptical keeps breaking too. We have had to replace a few of the parts on it. It is frustrating, especially for my husband who uses it all of the time. I am so glad you found a fun way to get your exercise!

October Goals

Thursday, September 30, 2010

*Work out 6x a week on the elliptical for at least 45 mins a day. (including that time of the month...) **** My Elliptical's pedal axel snapped in half, so I have to wait for the part to come in... This goal will not be reached this month, but I will be on the elliptical everyday after the part comes in.
*Strength Train 3x a week
*Track all food daily
*Drink 8 glasses of water daily
*Lose 8 pounds
*Lose 2-3 inches on body (doesn't matter where it comes off if it is lost... =) )
*Do not buy any Halloween candy that I would eat (Buy stuff like the miniature popcorn bags to give out.)
*Take my dogs on walks at least 3 times a week (even just around the block -- Once I start moving I don't stop.)
*Stretch daily

October is going to be a crazy busy month for our house. So I want to set some goals to keep. I'm pretty sure that I can do all of my goals. The Halloween candy will probably be my biggest challenge this month. I already bought airheads to give out a count of 80. I think those are gross, so those are safe. lol My kids love them and ask daily to open them, but I tell them no. If I got popcorn to give out at least they would be 100 calorie packs and would cure a salt craving if we had any left over. My other harder challenge for this month will be walking my doggies. They love to be walked, and have tons of energy. They are both beagles so new smells are wonderful to them.

What are your goals for October?

I love goals, wish I was better at making them for myself though. :) I'm not even going to do halloween this year I think, I might just hide in the house with the lights off! LOL
