Reached a goal!

Saturday, April 25, 2009

Today I weighed in at my goal weight, which is actually 2.5 lbs farther than I thought I would be at this time. Working out 6-7 days a week for the first part has really helped in addition to food tracking.
As I will be out of town for 2 weeks I packed a notebook to write everything down in. My cardio tomorrow will be running (fast walking) from one end of O'Hare airport to the other!
See you can fit in in anywhere.

Keep moving.

BWAH-HAH-HAH-HAH! I get to see the new bod with my own eyes today... whee! Of course, I never saw the "old" one, BSP (Before SparkPeople) but I trust I'll be highly impressed nonetheless.

I'm down a total of another 15 lbs. since Dan last saw me, so he will be so very fortunate to be in the company of two svelte, sexy ladies for the next 48 hours. (Then he'll be back down to only one during the trip to Newark -- but it'll be the one that counts.)

Yay, Jan! 90 days, and 10+ lbs. lost. It's been fun, exciting, and inspiring to watch your SparkJourney.

My six month "Sparkversery" will be this Sunday. I so grateful to have found this site (thanks to my sister), where you can come together with friends -- and strangers who become friends -- on this marvelous journey to better health.

Today was the first time.....

Friday, April 10, 2009

Today was the first time that I was annoyed about not doing all I wanted to at the gym because I had to get home and get ready for Work!

This surprised me. Other days it's been just oh well time to go. Today work was interfering with my working out! LOL.

Well that was not on my goal list.

Sounds like your adjusting to your new lifestyle very well. I always hate missing a workout or having to cut it short because of other commitments.

Yeah, that's a weird feeling. The first time I noticed I was annoyed 'cuz I missed a workout, I suddenly wondered what alien had come along and replaced my brain with someone else's! It's a good thing, though... right? LOL!

We've always heard that this journey needs to be a lifestyle change in order for it to work, and you've just proved that!
Best wishes,

A bit of a tribute.

Wednesday, April 08, 2009

To one loving , laughing, caring individual whom I knew through work. She retired in 2006 and died today. I'm not sad as she was a woman who saw the upside to everything even cancer. She beat it once but it snuck up on her 10 years later. I wish everyone a portion of her spunk and attitude.
Vaya con dios Niki.

My condolences on the loss of your friend. She sounds like a very special person indeed. People who spread light and inspiration during their lives also seem to find a way to make a positive difference even in death. Kudos to you for emphasizing the celebration of her life over the mourning of her passing.

Today Someone asked me if I had lost weight!

Friday, March 27, 2009

So today was the day. Someone I hadn't seen in a month or so who works for our clinic as a fill in for vacations asked me today if I had lost weight. Hooray! I will see her again in a few weeks and we will have more time to chat about Spark People!

One day someone will notice and ask you too! emoticon

Getting noticed -- always one of the best rewards for one's efforts. Several weeks ago, I had a lady I didn't even know walk up to me and congratulate me on the tremendous amount of weight I'd lost. It was at one of my daughter's chess events -- another chess mom, though we'd never been formally introduced and I hadn't noticed her before. Anyway, it was really nice of a stranger to do that, and it made me feel super-good.

I probably already mentioned this, but there should be a few SparkPeople tarot folks at the Readers' Studio this year. Y'all should plant to get together while you're there, and share success stories!
