Change of plans!

Saturday, August 06, 2011

Well, today was the day we were going to pack up the bikes and drive North and ride the Centennial trail for a few hours. While backing the appropriate vehicle up to the garage my husbands foot slipped and hit the gas pedal. So.....the garage door buckled, the glass broke on his car, it hit my car in the garage and shoved it forward.
After a few choice words, laughter won out. The insurance co. will not really do much as it is a weekend. More chuckles. Laughter is the only way. Stuff happens. 2 vehicles and one garage door damaged, still we can ride our bikes more locally and Walk!!!!

Computer annoyances

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Sometimes the computer goonies attack! Downloading IE 8 helped with Spark People but messed up some of the computer functions. Yesterday I was not able to access MSN hotmail. Today it is working!

Gremlins I tell ya. I was close to going out and buying a Mac! LOL. I refrained.

Two weeks ago the company I work for called the staff at my clinic in and told us we would be closed by years end. One week later another meeting and they made it all sound pretty bleak due to cuts to medical reimbursement starting in January.

This week we had yet another meeting and now it seems that as our clinic is in the black we will stay open until next summer! OR......Good news, more time to make a game plan.
Keeps us on our toes.
Some stress eating occured, a few pounds gained.
Now to take them off!

Maybe with insurance coverage changing there will be more business? Stress is maddeningly synergistic. Hope you got it nipped in the bud.

Ahhh, the joys of the medical world. It used to be that we never had to worry about a job (or a raise). Our system is in the red this year due to building projects so we're being held to tight budgets. I'm glad you're don't have to worry....until next year.

Good news for your clinic. Hang in there, you can do it.

You would think IE8 would let you get hotmail easy. They are the same company! Go figure. And IE 9 is in beta and just around the corner haha.

Hope your job stays in the black. Rough time to be looking for a new job. Hang in there!

Things to do on a sunny weekend in the Northwest......

Monday, June 14, 2010

Saturday started off with working but only for two hours. Then home for a bicycle ride, time in the yard, and a late day walk. Sunday was the lowest tide for this part of the year so went to the beach for a 2.5 hour walk with friends, even found some beach glass! A great weekend filled with lots of activity. I enjoyed all of it, no exhaustion and the good kind of muscle ache! This may be the trend for the sunny days we are bound to get sooner or later!

And now we are back to clouds! Makes us Pacific Northwesterners enjoy the sun even more. But I'll think I'll sit on the back deck and sip my cup of coffee (and pretend I'm camping at Ocean City!) emoticon

A good friend of mine whom I haven't seen in a while called me today. She was laid off today from a company she has worked for for 23 years. She just turned 61 a few months ago. We both work in the medical imaging field. I am not afraid but disturbed.
This is definitely an appetite killer, not one I recommend. Sometimes just writing about an event that is upsetting and distrubing gives one a chance to digest, process and stop the brain from cycling this all night.
So that is all for now........
Good night.

When I get that sort of news I donīt loose my appetite - I go into bingeing mode.

You an borrow my mantra for disturbed situations "everything is just as it is supposed to be"...

In the worst case scenario, dear, remember: I have an "in" with a radiology practice here in Des Moines. Last I knew, reliable, experienced techs are almost always welcome.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you have job security. With the change in medical insurance, I heard there will be a shortage of medical workers. Relax and rest. Tomorrow is another day and things change quickly, she may have a job soon.

I too am looking forward to the ice skating. I got to watch a little of the Olympics last night and loved it!

I just recently found out about "MeetUps" and found a great hiking/photography group. I am really looking forward to going on my first adventure with them in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for letting us know a bit more about you!

You like Thai food? When do you get to eat it? When your DH comes for his quarterly visit here, I can't ever get him to go out for Thai. He tells me he doesn't care for it. But he does let me take him out for sushi at least once!

Interesting questions -- lovely to get to know you even better, dear!
