T-Tapp today

Thursday, June 18, 2009

I missed my workout yesterday... had to leave home early and had a dr's appt, which is 1.5 hrs from home-spent 3 hrs on the road.

This morning, I did complete the basic plus workout and added the lunge sequence, balance sequence including the puppet pulls and the arm sequence from the total workout. I had my HRM on during this time and was amazed that the results indicated 36 minutes in my target heart rate zone! This workout is cardio and not just toning. The exercises seem simple but it gets the heart rate up there or at least it gets mine up:) HRM also showed that I burned 377 calories! I tried not to pause too many times so that it would be an accurate monitoring. I was pleased to get toning and cardio completed with just this workout!

Great job on sticking with the program! I hope you are able to see that desired inch loss, too! Either way, it sounds like you are getting healthier and that's what's most important!

I'm really impressed with your results on your HRM! I will have to try it again. I haven't found that my HR goes up very far and I burn closer to 100 calories, and I don't think I ever reach my target heart rate zone. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm pretty sure I have my HRM set-up right. I don't have the TWO, but I do have the BWO and the Ladybug WO, as well as the MORE WO. I think they are all have similar moves with minor variations (except the BWO is only the first half of the others). Wish I knew how to crank up the HR when I'm doing these exercises! I do like the other benefits I get from T-Tapp, though, and I continue to do the stomach routine found on the CD in the book.

It is very inspiring to see your progress with this program! I'm going to give the Ladybug workout another go today.

update t-tapp

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Well....since my last blog, I missed a t-tapp workout for Saturday and on Monday (yesterday)-too much going on-at least that is my story and I'm sticking to it:)

However, I completed the basic plus workout today and added the arm sequence, the lunge sequence and added a new one- the balance sequence minus the puppet pulls. There seems to be alot in remembering for the moves. But, I will get there...slowly but surely.

I have not lost any inches yet. It has been two weeks today, since I began. I think the book says that you can lose in two wks but I haven't so far. But, then I did miss about 3 work outs. However, my DH asked if I was continuing to use wts since he thought my arm muscles looked more defined! I told him no that for right now the wts are on hold since that is what Teresa recommended. At least I will be sure that it is these workouts that create the difference in what I am seeing/experiencing. That was exiciting to hear! My goal for my arms is to lose an inch in my upper arms and be toned and defined without bulk. We will see!

I found this interesting from the book. It was a question from someone on whether you have to diet to get good results. Interestingly enough, she said "No'. In fact, Teresa Tapp recommended that you do not diet at all during the first few wks of starting the workout. However, I am trying to eat healthy and follow the principles of the flatbelly diet from Prevention. Teresa does suggest later to follow what she refers to as God Made/Man Made Food Plan. Basically, you eat God-made foods for two days and then you can eat man-made foods on the 3rd day. Interesting.

Most people equate "diet" with "starve" or "cut back on your food" so she's right, you absolutely do not want to do that when you are starting out on a new workout program! (or anytime for that matter..)

But eating HEALTHY is ALWAYS a good idea - so deciding to start at the same time you start working out is certainly a great idea.

The 2/1 is an interesting concept - as long as you are careful about your definition of "man made". Kind of like the calorie cycling concept (which is kind of fun too...)

Good luck!

Well, I decided to add a couple of new moves to my routine. I feel pretty comfortable with the basic plus routine, so I added the lunge sequence and the arm sequence from Teresa's total workout routine. I know that she suggests doing the exercises in sequence, however, I decided that surely it wouldn't hurt to include the arm exercises today. I would really like to lose an inch from my upper arms and tighten them up some more. I got some pretty good definition from Joyce Vedral's definition dvd, however, I would like leaner upper arms.

This has been pretty easy to learn from the instructional dvds, however, I am glad that I also have the book to refer to. It takes both for me, because I want to get the form correct so that I can see the results that she promises. I guess this is where my perfectionism can actually come in handy for a change:)

It sounds like you are doing great with the T-Tapp! I tried my "Stepping Away the Inches" DVD this week. It went really well. The DVD includes quite a few arm movements. I don't know if you have this one (mine came included with my Basic Plus Workout), but it might be another way to include more arm movements.

Keep up the good work! emoticon

I completed the basic plus routine today. Also, the diva derriere and awesome legs routine. I feel really comfortable with the basic plus moves and will begin adding moves from the Total workout routine. It is an additional 30 minutes, so I think I will take it slowly and add one or two additional exercises.

Teresa Tapp says that inches can be lost just using the 15 min basic plus routine that I am doing, but, the Total workout is suppose to really work on the core, which I really, really need! I like that her exercises use only sets of 8 repetitions. It is because of the compound muscle movements involved in each exercise. She also suggests doing only her exercises, except for maybe walking, etc. I guess so that you will know that it is her workout that is working. I am aiming to do the workouts everyday for two wks to see what kind of results I will have with this.

Hi Jan, I'm eager to hear how this works for you!

My trouble with that is that I really prefer cardio (swimming, biking, walking) to weights and floor exercises. So I'm afraid that I wouldn't do stick with it.

After missing the workouts this weekend, I began again yesterday. Completed the basic plus routine, diva derriere and the awesome leg exercises.

Today, completed the same routines except I added jog/rocks (cardio) and the flat belly exercise that Teresa calls 'organs in place'. this is an unusual exercise. I feel a little bit odd doing this one. Maybe it is just some fear of moving my organs around...don't want to hurt anything:) However, she says that she taught this move to models when she was working with them. I am looking forward to seeing what the results might be after I have consistently done these routines for a wk or so.

Someone asked me to clarify what dry skin brushing is. Well, here goes, using Teresa Tapp's wds:

"Europeans have always known that stimulating the body's surface (the skin) helps create strong, smooth skin. But when done in a specific pattern, brushing will stimulate the lymph system and other elimination systems to work more efficiently so reduction of stored fat and toxins will occur. That's why I created the specific pattern of the CRT™ Brushing Sequence to help you achieve maximum results. The CRT™ pattern will also help stimulate your metabolic rate. It takes only 7 minutes or less! TIGHTEN YOUR SKIN! REGAIN ELASTICITY! For those lucky few who do not have cellulite, the CRT™ Skin Tightening System serves as the fastest skin tightening system on the market today. Your skin can regain its youthful elasticity even if it is loose from dieting, aging, or post pregnancy. And you know that problem spot where the armpit area gets "wrinkled" and you can't wear strapless tops? Well, the CRT™ Skin Tightening System will tighten this area within 10 days. Men love the CRT™ Skin Tightening System too... it will keep their chest area tight."

This procedure uses an all natural plant fiber bristle brush...you use it dry and follow her outlined sequence of brushing the body. It has left my skin feeling very soft. I will let you know how it is working for me.

Well, it certainly is interesting! Are the workouts really hard? Are they easy to follow? I'll have to check out the trials online sometime-I went to the page once but didn't have time to really read through much.
Best wishes and I'll keep reading to see how you're doing.
