My daughter just announced she is pregnant! No longer just the grandma of dogs and chickens! Did you know that Sparkpeople has great pregnancy resources?
And not just for weight control in pregnancy. Do a search!

Still at 15 pound loss

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Still at a 15 pound loss but my sugar is just great!!! Back to some meat, trying to decrease the carbs. Walking 30 min a day for months now. Running not so much with the heat. Overall pleased

Doctor pleased!

Friday, June 18, 2010

Good cholesterol way up, bad cholestorol down to normal. 3month sugar normal! Morning sugar still high, gotta lose more weight for that to go down.
Blood pressure normal and lost 3 pounds from last visit.
Also Doc says sure I can run, the dog will love it. (three mornings of running so far, 3 minutes each time as part of morning walk)

Stayed in my calorie range

Monday, June 14, 2010

In a banner Sunday, I stayed in my calorie range for the first time in a long time.
With running, gardening and within calories, it was a banner day. And True Blood has started again!

I ran!

Sunday, June 13, 2010

emoticon At 57 years old and 85 pounds overweight, this morning I ran. Yes it was only for 3 minutes and it felt like I was killing myself --- asthma for first minute, wobbly legs on the third minute and a lot of huffing and puffing. The dog was extremely excited and would have done more, though I know he's out of shape too.
1 minute then 90 seonds rest, the rest a brisk walk.
Of course I had to run into another dog walker who I think thought I was nuts. Maybe I was.
Now I'm all sweaty! Not used to this.
But I survived.
Tuesday is the next day.

YAY!!! THat's great!! I'm not the only one that has done this (only I ran and huffed and puffed with my extremely energetic 4 year old grandson!) Keep doing this and before you know it, the huffing and puffing will be gone and your dog will be the one wanting to stop!!! I am starting Couch to 5K tomorrow. Have you thought about trying that? emoticon emoticon

Thanks! Glad to know I'm not going to die, at least not from 3 minutes of running. emoticon

nice! Like the previous comment, it took me about a year to get to a point where running felt natural and not like I was going to die. I truly enjoy running these days.

I know all about the huffing and puffing. You go! It took me over a year to get as far as 3 minutes and then it started to climb rapidly. I'm now at 8 minutes on the machine and about 4-5 minutes outside (depending on what surface I run on)
