Learned today by reading the Omnivore's Dilemna that humans are programmed to want fat and sugar and that our processed food is full of corn sugar and fat, often from soy.
It's true!!! Looked at things like my low cal yogurt and whole grain tortilla. They both had fructose/sugrose as an ingredient, though far down the list.
Hurray for whole foods like my black beans and sweet potato!
No wonder I have type II diabetes. Sugar is everywhere! I never eat desserts but I used to eat a lot of popcorn and bread (full of sugar!)
Even bologna and other luncheon meats are full of sugar!!! WOW.
And today, I met my potassium and magnesium with banana, cashews, beans, sweet potato, etc.
