Holy Crap!

I have now lost just over seven pounds in five days. I know it isn't something I can expect to have happen every week. It may all be water weight. But I DO NOT CARE! It has given me the boost I need. My goal seems a bit more possible now.

I have been focusing on eating vegetables at every meal. They always fill up half my plate. I don't care for a lot of vegetables, and the ones I like always seem to be so pricey. Then I started thinking about how much money I plunk down for an order of fries and a shake. Hmmm.... maybe those veggies aren't that expensive!

The large plates in my cabinet are getting lonely. I've quit using them. A full salad plate looks more satisfying than a half full dinner plate. Sometimes I have to trick myself....

Keeping track of my calories on SP has helped a lot. I enter everything in as soon as I can. I feel accountable. And I have found that every day I have a few extra calories for a treat. Those treats make me feel like I've been 'cheating'. I love knowing I won't have to give up my favorite things to be healthier. Moderation is key!

The past couple of years have been full of disappointment, stress, health problems, depression, etc. But I am done using it as an excuse. I'm going to get back moving again. Watch what I eat. Today is day 3 and I feel fantastic!

Today I actually did pretty well. I attended two (2!) bbqs and managed not to gorge myself. I just had a little taste of everything. I even managed to only have a few spoonfuls of homemade ice cream.

I've been stressed and depressed the last couple of weeks but I am going to try to get online more. I hope everyone is doing well!

Doing good

So, the 5K was yesterday. It was great. A lot harder than the last one tho. This one had A LOT of hills. And I was pushing a stroller. Whew! I did manage to shave 2 1/2 minutes off of my time. I feel great. A bit sore, but great. My husband came home for two days and did the 5K too. I am so proud of him!
We also went to see Get Smart last night. I was surprised by how good it was.
Well, I'm off. Gotta help hubby get ready to go back to work.

Infomercial Zombie

I really really really need to start going to bed early. I just wish I could. Not only is it not helping my weight loss goals or depression; I am wanting all this crap being sold on the infomercials. Man, I want these P90X videos. They look awesome. But for $120, I don't think so. Or the cool Fluidity bar and videos.....maybe I could actually gain some flexibility. Has anyone tried any of this stuff? Let me know so I can be jealous of ya. LOL

Anyway, today (Thursday) was actually good. I woke up this morning feeling like I'd been hit by a truck during the night and laid around most of the day. I didn't think I would get any exercise in but ended up going for a walk after my kids went to bed. And I cleaned every bathroom in the house (whew!). I'm planning on taking a short walk in the morning and then relaxing the rest of the day. I've got a 5K on Saturday. ....gotta take it easy. LOL

    hmmmmmmm,it looks like an" alien 5 "commercial to me! i don't know what's that but i don't think it's better than other things. i know what you mean with the lack of sleep ,i barely manage to sleep 4-5 hours/night,i don't have time and i'm so tired that i can't sleep even when i have . i started to wonder how far can i push myself and where is the limit. i almost fainted today at work(that would be a show! and nobody could lift me up if it happened : ) ).the good thing is that even if i feel bad i don't have the urge to eat. you too take it easy and relax a little
