Not so good eating day

Saturday, June 29, 2013

Left early for an out of town trip, which amounted to eating breakfast and McDonald's and lunch at Chipotle. I managed to stay under calories by eating a light dinner, hopefully I don't wake up super hungry in the middle of the night.

Exciting title, no? lol

Well, this is my second go round with Sparkpeople. I used it habitually for about 3 months back in 2011 and then fell off the wagon for a long time. I was forced to change jobs during that time and then lost the new job I found. Depressing stuff. So with a lot of time on my hands I started using it again. I started working out Day 1 of my unemployment and lost about 15 pounds. Then I had breast reduction surgery at the end of May and lost 5 pounds in one go. emoticon

Now I am almost 4 weeks into my recovery. I am doing pretty good on calories but no exercise for at least another 2 weeks so my body can concentrate on healing.

Usually when you have surgery, you lose your appetite. Take advantage of that and start introducing foods at a slow pace. Try eating 5 or 6 small meals instead of the usual 3 meals a day. When you eat a little every 3 to 4 hours, it keeps your metabolism working instead of 3 meals and your metabolism stopping until you put more food in your stomach. And most of all, don't forget to use the nutrition tracker.
I hope you recuperate quickly.
