I've really blown all of my hard earned weight loss since Valentine's day. I started with the chocolate and haven't stopped. I've regained 7 kilos of my 19 kg weight loss. What a waste of time and I'm having trouble restarting. Oh well. emoticon

Yeah - I understand sometimes it a vicious cycle - I too gained back 9 pounds but I have also turned that around by focusing on me as my DH returned from the hospital and is on the mend - just do the best you can - hugs Karen - Thanks for all your support !

Update on exercise and other things...

Wednesday, February 05, 2014

It's been a while since I've blogged. I couldn't keep up with my exercise plan as I had last written. I felt bad because of this and had to step back. The program was a post heart bypass walking plan and I couldn't do it! emoticon
I didn't stop though. I cut back on the number of minutes walking and the number of times a day and am doing well since then.
I've only taken rest days on Sundays. Now I can walk 20 minutes continuously (even if it is a very slow walk) three days a week, and I do Leslie Sansone indoor walking 1 mile video 3 days a week. If the weather permits (and it really hasn't) I walk outdoors.
emoticon I'm doing the Coach Nicole's arm and shoulder emoticon video twice a week and her Core Abs emoticon video twice a week. Last night I was curious to see if I could ride the stationary bike emoticon (the last time I could only do 4.5 minutes). I put on a Biggest Losers video and rode - - for 12 minutes!!! I was ready to stop but it was without too much stress....I'm happy! I don't know if I should continue in the evenings with the bike, as I do the walking in the mornings. I don't want to do too much because I'll then have to step back again and I'd rather progress slowly than have to go back. But I have so much more energy now! It's a great feeling!!!

The weight loss and eating well is going very well. emoticon I got below 300 pounds as of yesterday. Surprisingly, I have no problem with eating well and not eating junk. I have no desire for sugar and I was really a sugar and chocolate addict! I enjoy trying new foods now. Sunday, I made the Breakfast Lentil recipe that I saw here on SP and it was very good. I ate it as my afternoon snack. Low calories and fiber and with the apple it was sweet. I want to try the chickpea and lentil veggie burger recipe next.

Have a good Wednesday and I hope everyone is staying warm and dry with all this rain and snow we are having everywhere. emoticon emoticon

CONGRATULATIONS on the great job you are doing. Listen to your body as you continue with your exercises so that you don't overdo it. I am happy (and I know you are too) with the progress you are making.
Enjoy a wonderful week and stay warm and dry. Our weather has been miserable with all the snow, freezing rain and cold. One day at a time we are getting closer to spring! WOOHOO!!!
I love the Abraham Lincoln saying...it is very true!!!

Day 6 exercise completed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, January 18, 2014

Day 6 exercise completed!!!!!!!!!!!!
I increased from 8 mins 4 times a day (32 min total) to
11 minutes 3 times a day today(33 mins total).
I'm really tired. It is amazing, yesterday was easy and changing the duration made it so much harder . . . for only 3 minutes!
Double goal today, completed first week of exercise (Sunday is rest day) and increased endurance.

Thanks for the encouragement from everyone, I need it,
but I don't want to bore you all. I want to keep a record in the blog of how I am progressing and the record the difficult parts....to learn from and remember what has happened....and hopefully help someone else along the way.

Keep blogging. Lots of people use their blogs as a record of how they are doing. They go back and see how they have progressed. It's all good. If we didn't want to read them, we'd go someplace else.

Congratulations on picking up the duration. That's a big deal. Keep going!

A great big Thank You to everyone!!!!

Friday, January 17, 2014

First of all, I want to Thank everyone for their supporting words and encouragement on my blogs, especially this week since I am having such a hard time with exercising!!!!!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
It means a lot to me and the cheering me on has helped me get thru my first week. There is still tomorrow and I will rest Sunday, but have completed 5 days at 32 minutes walking each day - - I'm more than satisfied! I got 2 sessions in this morning - I was so exhausted yesterday, and today, a new day I feel good!

Next week's plan is to walk emoticon 3 sessions every day
between 10 to 15 minutes each to increase endurance, not speed.
I think I will try 10 minutes per session Monday, 11 mins Tuesday, 12 mins Wed, 13 mins Thurs, 14 mins Fri, and 15 mins Saturday.
We'll see emoticon Patience!

The eating healthy is going well.....surprisingly I have no problem with this. It's not work at all because I'm enjoying the healthier foods, feel satisfied and am having fun trying new recipes. The scale has stuck for the last 3 days, but Oh well! I'm doing everything right.

I hope everyone has a good weekend as today is Friday!!! emoticon emoticon

So proud of you! Even if you just do 10 minutes for each session and four sessions a day, you are getting 8 extra minutes per day (40 per week if you walk five days). So proud of you! Keep up the great work!

Good plans and yes, the support we get here makes such a difference!
Thanks for comment on my blog. My daughter inspired me on batch cooking. Her coworkers were always wondering what gourmet lunch she brought each day! Mine aren't that classy, but as you say, having most of dinner done ahead helps when you're trying to fit in exercise and other things after work.

Keep going. If your goals are too much next week, give yourself permission to stay at a certain time for a day or two until you are able to increase time again. If you can keep your pace up, then we will all celebrate with you. If you maintain pace we will all celebrate too. The important thing is to keep moving.
